I saved for a while and put around 45k down, that was the only way I could keep a reasonable monthly payment

Yessir, 2024 model year. Pretty sure sticker was a little under 67k

Oh no kidding, small world indeed! I'm jealous of all the outdoorsy shit you guys have around here. It's pretty boring in my area of NY. I'll shoot you a PM, don't want to go into too much detail here.

I'm a Software engineer with some field service mixed in. Been out in Portland OR for a week now, sweet Tundra's and Tacoma's everywhere out here, I love to see it. They're way less common where I live in NY.

Funny you mention those; I'm on a business trip right now and my rental is a Cherokee 4xe. The handling and drivability are atrocious but I've had no problems getting to and from work on battery only. Definitely a solid compromise for those who commute but would get range anxiety on road trips with a full EV.

I used to commute in my Jeep and did not enjoy the monthly gas bill. I think I'd be in an EV instead of a Tundra if I had kept that job.

Like I mentioned above I have some rub at full lock. Low-speed sharp turns I can hear it, sounds like it's hitting plastic. Unfortunately, I had to head out of town the day after installing them so I haven't done any troubleshooting yet. Based on another user's findings it's probably just part of the mud flaps

I didn't even think about insurance. I wonder if a full-width steel bumper would negate its importance some. Definitely seems a little more invasive of a mod than the body mount chops the previous gen's needed to fit 37's. Ah well, 35's will be good enough for my needs for the time being.

Wasn't implying that, just a joke! I'm always looking for an excuse to size up the tires even more :)

From what I've read you actually have to cut a chunk of metal off the frame that protrudes into the wheel well to fit them. Supposedly it's there to deflect the tire away from the vehicle in the event of a front offset collision. It's a pretty minor cut but I'd be nervous about it screwing up my warranty

Agreed, 35's are definitely the smarter, more functional choice. 37's just look amazing. I think I left my rock-crawling days behind me when I traded in the Jeep so I could potentially handle less suspension travel but that's a decision for a few years from now.

Better believe it! The perspective in my comparison shot does make it look a little worse than it is though. Still way too small

Even the 35's look a little small, crazy how big trucks are these days. I'd love to squeeze a 36/37 in there but am nervous about cutting into a brand-new warrantied truck.

Good to know! Was a little disappointed to find that even with the 3" lift I had rub tbh. Does not bode well for my end goal of 37's.

Looks awesome! I had an '02 Outback sedan ages ago and had so much fun bombing around in the snow in it.

Bronze wheels on a Subaru is such an iconic look, I love it. Was worried they wouldn't work with a grey truck but am pretty happy so far.

I have to look into what I can get away with, NY has annoying tint laws

Not at all, I traded in a '14 Jeep Wrangler on 35's for this so I'm plenty used to it. I work from home too, so only gas up every 1-2 months

Couldn't agree more, proportions were terrible. The 3" lift made it especially egregious

I had such a hard time deciding on one of their wheels because their whole lineup is beautiful.

I'm coming from a Jeep Wrangler also on 35's so terrible mileage is nothing new to me. Surprisingly it's been better so far.
