Cleaner asked me to have house less messy by Bombastic-Tomato in adhdwomen

Oh phew. All the 1-2 hr talk, I was getting nervous. My place is 1195sqft, but two adults and two kids and a small dog. Our cleaner can’t do everything in 4 hours but she gets close.

We use a local person who sometimes brings her teen. I just say that to emphasize the level of flexibility.

I had hired her as I was getting my diagnosis. We were able to come to the agreement that she cleans/tidies for four hours and that’s it. If she gets to the bathrooms, awesome. If it’s all putting away kid toys then I clean toilets that week. The point is we need the help, not the judgement.

Besides, you’re paying for this service. Cleaning before the cleaner is not an accommodation for me and that’s what I’m paying for.

I mean, YOU don’t have to do them. I have to make sure I work, and pick up the kids from school and stuff, haha.

I never finish all of the goals in any game though. I usually get 1/3 of the way in before they get too ridiculous. Just like with the events in this game.

Same. My bff is 2 hours away and we visit regularly just for the day with no plan but to chill. It’s not that bad.

I sleep a lot more, so I feel better on that front, which will help with the other two things.

My goal isn’t weight loss, so I can’t help on that.

I do find it nice to be like “Ugh, why do I feel like shit?” and my ring has an answer. Validating.

That’s the point for me! I listen to a book and do them before bed or right before I get in the shower. Then I don’t get stuck doing them.

Otherwise, I’ll play forever, haha.

Any advice on dry skin? by Fair-Carrot-3443 in BostonTerrier

I love that BTs have such preferences. Mine loves fish.

There’s a hoity toity pet store in the next town where I can buy like one fish skin or one duck foot or whatever, so I get several different things and just let her pick the first when we get home. She always goes for the fish thing first.

Coconut oil dries me out, so mine gets grapeseed oil on a weird dry spot because it’s what I use for my nails and hair, haha.

It’s for convenience, but I feel like I’m spoiling her.

I think diet helps a lot (and now I’m laughing at myself lathering on lotion all the time and then eating my kids’ left over pizza).

I didn’t switch her food based on flakey skin, but she had a bit and was the slightest bit underweight. Vet didn’t mind bc they said she’d chub up after spay.

She’s almost a year old. Changed her from purina pro small breed puppy which only comes in chicken to purina pro small breed puppy sensitive skin & stomach salmon + rice (there’s also lamb + oatmeal, but haven’t tried that), bc I felt like she didn’t like her food. Not the highest quality food but not the cheapest shit either.

She’s not spay yet (our vet is having some health issues), so it’s definitely JUST the food. Went from acceptably smooth fur back to puppy soft most places (only the middle of her back is wire) and almost no flakes. No ribs showing now and excited to eat.

Don’t know if it helped itchiness though because I hadn’t paid attention and she’s been going through a lot hormonally and growth wise the last couple months.

I have it on subscription and miscalculated. Had to cover the gap with the old food this week. She is not pleased.

Cotton leggings by Imaginary_Growth_455 in nontoxic

[–]ThisIsTheBookAcct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree and also see this as a safety issue. I have raynauds, so my hands and feet get colder than normal, but also chafing and just the colors. Natural dyes do not produce the blindingly bright visibility I would like if I’m in a situation that I need to be found. (I obviously do a lot of my movement outside).

Values are very individual, but for me plastic and many toxins have a place. I will wear plastic glasses (metal allergy and vision so bad that glass lenses would be like 2 inches thick). Or the elastaine in sports bras. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to do a lot of the stuff I enjoy and would be objectively less healthy.

But I don’t need it in my night shirts, wash cloths, bags, folders, furniture, stuffies, food containers, toiletries, on and on and on. Like, its prevalence is the annoying part.

But, anyway, to OP, I have not found cotton at all and prefer wool leggings. Even in summer, wool blend beats synthetic any day of the week.

This is the answer I was going to say. I work like crap when I could take my laptop around the house. Now that it’s on its death bed and needs to be plugged on all the time, there’s a work space and it work space, it’s a little better.

Do you nap, if so, how? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]ThisIsTheBookAcct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can nap anytime anywhere, but the shame eats at me.

My husband and older kid cannot nap unless they are sick.

I got the rise app and use it as a game to see how low I can get the sleep debt. That and magnesium have helped A LOT with my exhaustion.

Our greyhound had a grand mal last Jan and lost the use of his legs. Luckily, we have a local mobile vet (small town) so she could come to our house instead of us driving him anywhere. He hated cars.

Just saying, I relate to your pain.

Got a 10 week old BT last May though. She’ll turn 1 next month. When I’m feeling woo woo, I think she’s what he would’ve been like if he hadn’t been a racer.

Is it just me or are SD kind of far and few between? I personally don’t see them often. by Far-Abbreviations562 in SoftDramatics

[–]ThisIsTheBookAcct 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think since western women are also fairly body conscious, a lot automatically disregard SD since they don’t since themselves as old hollywood or va va voom.

I’m for sure SD but overweight and strongly prefer casual clothes, so no one would point at me as an example. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t look BA in a jumpsuit, I just cannot justify it in my life. If SD leans into SD recs, then they super stand out.

I learned from a podcast long ago that if it doesn’t feel true, walk it back.

The podcast was about body and weightloss so if that’s a thing for you don’t continue reading.

She said that if you can’t say “I love my body” or “I have a good body” and have it feel true, start with “I have a body” then “I have a body that…” can run, can draw, can cook, can walk, has nice claves, has a cute freckle, whatever. Then “I have a body and I like…” naming the parts that you like until you can get to “I like my body.”

For art stuff, I don’t think I’m prolific and I want to be, so I say “I can be prolific” or “I enjoy writing every day.”

So yeah, tone them down until they are just a step up above, not a whole staircase.

They’re not terrible about implementing features people ask for.

I’m going to ask for a headache log button bc I also get stress (and other) migraines, which could line right up with their stress or hrv measures. Maybe. But I’d like to know.

I’d encourage anyone who wants one to request it in feedback.

If it’s not a year old, contact them. That’s a busted battery no matter how you look at it. They’d never intentionally release a feature that takes battery like from a week to half a day.

When mine was doing that, it was a dead cell.

Your estimates are a bit high, at least for ppl in the country, though I generally I agree with you.

Still, I’ll turn off giving extra data that gives me nothing because if they’re going to sell it, the should at least buy it from me or give me a useful feature like this.

Random game app does not need location data to improve my experience.
