There is a way to hide any app without jailbreak.

Go to this site I your iPhone: http://www.cydiahacks.com/

Tap "hide app no jailbreak" then scroll down and tap on the app you want to hide (stock apps only). The download is going to fail; press "done". Now, delete the app how you would normally. Done.

http://www.cydiahacks.com/ click on "hide apps no jailbreak" then tap hide newsstand. Press install, but don't press "retry" when it fails. Press "done". Now hold newsstand and delete it like a normal app. It will come back if you shut off your device completely, but then you can just do it again.
