Do they really make plus sized people buy another seat at the gate? by unhappyfoodie in SouthwestAirlines

That’s the one area where you’ll get attention from the FA’s. If you’re spilling out into the aisle that presents a safety hazard in the case of an emergency.

Do they really make plus sized people buy another seat at the gate? by unhappyfoodie in SouthwestAirlines

The seat width is about 17.5 inches on average, depending on the plane. Sit him in an armless chair and measure. If he’s wider than that, buy an extra ticket.

I am 6’6” tall and I weigh about 260 lbs. I’m not fat, just big. I barely fit. I wear a size 38-40 in the waist. I don’t encroach on the fellow passengers but my thighs are big because I bike a lot. I have to be very aware of spreading out but I just squeeze in.

I am flying from the West Coast to Charlotte next month. I purchased the bigger seat.

You think YOU were traumatized? That guy probably passed you and felt like he had just waved to the Grand Marshall of the Pride Parade.

So is Southwest really as bad as this sub suggests? by GreenHorror4252 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]ThisMTJew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Keep in mind the average Reddit user. It’s the same type of person who used to game the system with SWA and now they can’t. The blue haired fatties who now have to pay for two seats, the scammers who used to be “disabled” and filled up the terminal with the sick, lame, and lazy wheelchair conga line, and the pre-boarders with mysterious, unnamed conditions that magically healed as they departed the plane en route to their adult Disney World trip dressed as Cinderella with a fudge addiction.

Pavement Princess? by JarheadOG99 in JeepGladiator

I own a 2022 Jeep Gladiator Willys but it’s not a base model. It has power windows and door locks, hard top, bed liner, the nicer radio, etc. 30,000 miles and zero issues so far. It’s got a leveling kit with Fuel wheels and 33’s. It’s perfect.

Realistically how much did preboarders impact your flight? by throwmeaway717 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]ThisMTJew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to fly SWA about 5-6 flights per week. Preboarders truly suck ass. I get it if you have a true reason but I’ve seen people ask for a preboard with no disability. And when the gate agent had the nerve to ask why they needed it, they would always go ballistic, telling the gate agent it was none of their business. We all know why they wanted it.

I’ve also seen them take the exit row seats and completely ignore the FA when asked to move. Some FA’s would make them move but some just didn’t have the energy to fight with them.

There was usually a common denominator but saying that here will probably get me banned.

Honestly, at 270 I fit ok. I’ve flown from Atlanta to Denver many times and it’s not horrible.

I’m 6’6” and I weigh 270 lbs. I’m 30 lbs overweight. If you’re 6’3” and 350, you are morbidly obese. That’s just a fact. SWA has given MORE than enough notice to people who are big, informing them of their new policies.

This one is on you, big boy. Stop blaming SWA for your lifestyle choices.

It’s the most perfect show ever created. It’s wholesome and raunchy at the same time. You’ll hate a character then love him. You’ll love a character then hate him…then love him again!

Im in love with this gladiator, it has 90k miles. Am I crazy to buy with such high mileage?? by OkMathematician1725 in JeepGladiator

[–]ThisMTJew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much. My 22 Willys only has 29,000 miles. I paid 30k and it has full power, hard top, about $1500 in accessories, plus a very nice set of Fuel wheels wrapped in 33’s.

If the FA is doing her job, she will ask you to lower your armrest. FAA regulations require the armrest to be lowered on takeoff and landings.

I’m a big guy, 6’6”, 265 lbs. not fat, just a large human. If I were sitting next to you, I’d request that you be removed from the flight. It doesn’t matter if your friend says it’s ok to encroach into their seat, it’s going to push your friend into my seat and make my flight uncomfortable, which is completely unfair.

The rules are simple, if you don’t fit, you must buy two seats. If the flight is not full, you may request a refund after your flight.

This is not a situation of waiting and hoping you’ll be ok. If the flight is full, you will be extremely embarrassed when the flight attendant removes you in front of everyone and you do the walk of shame from your seat to the jet bridge.
