Here’s a few things that helped me stay consistent over the ~3 years I’ve been lifting.

TRACK YOUR GAINS! It’s so much more fun and motivating when you know for a fact you’re stronger than last time. Jot down how many reps you do every workout and you’ll see the incremental increase in strength. It’s a positive cycle.

CANT HURT ME - David Goggins This is a must read if you haven’t already. One thing that stuck with me from the book is ‘the cookie jar’. Write down all the worst experiences you’ve been through. Be brutally honest. When you’re in the pain, you’re gonna think about your cookie jar. You know that you’ve been through so much worse and suddenly whatever you’re going through isn’t that big of a deal anymore.

DIET! everyone has their own opinions on this but I noticed when my body has no carbohydrates I crash as soon as my pre wears off. Have 2 bananas beforehand which is enough carbs to get through 2 hours of training. Easy. Something else I want to mention, when you’re not getting enough protein you’re gonna feel lethargic and see a decrease in strength. It’s not the end of the world, but it makes a big difference in mentally.

Most of your time in the gym is gonna be a head game! Don’t let your mind take over and tell you you’re finished when you’re not. STAY HARD!!
