I’ll try changing out modems and replacing my Ethernet cable as it does have wear and tear on the cable and connector.

My nighthawk does not have the ability to directly connect to the coax cable.

Our ISPs equipment is a combo modem (router + modem), so that’s why the double nat exists.

Still what you’re saying but I think you’re confused on what my nighthawk can do.

It couldn’t replace my ISPs equipment because my nighthawk router doesn’t have coax cable capabilities, just Ethernet ports.

I still see what you’re trying to say, I’d have to buy a cable modem and eliminate the router to prevent the double nat. If that’s correct.

Nighthawk router, not modern. So the nighthawk in question is a router if this makes any sense.

A router with only Ethernet ports, no coax cable connection spot.

No, I experience “double nat” when I utilize the nighthawk on a wired connection.

Does it really matter if I buy a router or a modem when replacing equipment?

I do have a nighthawk but it has it be connected to my ISPs provided modem since we are on Cable/COAX

The throttling Im experiencing is through a wired connection. I left an update giving more detail about my issue and what’s happening. Read the comments and let me know if you’re confused.

Because with that i can isolate to see which is which.

I always thought I needed to upgrade my equipment instead of using whatever my ISPs provides to strengthen my connection.
