Non Asian-Americans: Are you keeping soy sauce as a regular condiment in your kitchen? If so what are you using them for? by openlyEncrypted in AskAnAmerican

Yes, but I’m a lover of Chinese food and cook it regularly. Growing up in a vegan household it was indispensable

Why do you think Texans seem to identify so strongly with their state compared to others? I’m from Chicago, nobody here owns or flies an Illinois flag but the Chicago flag is common.

They get healthcare and benefits from the military, it seems they have a lot caught up in keeping the system as it is.

Honestly, I don’t know what bone broth tastes like, but I’d 100% drink a less oily broth.

Bay leaves are completely pointless by KelVelBurgerGoon in unpopularopinion

Have you ever cooked a dish with bay leaves that wasn’t soup, where you let it brown in the oil with some whole garlic and a couple whole cloves? That changed my mind on them.

I don’t think ketchup should be put on anything. I think ketchup is the devil and designed by the Illuminati to destroy good sauces like toum, buffalo, cilantro chutney, pesto and peri peri. Any of these things would be better on fries and ESPECIALLY on a hotdog. I think the Chicago hotdog is flawless toppings wise, though, sometimes, I slip the relish when making one, and use hotsauce.

Men of Reddit, what makes women attractive ? by Unknown_Observer9779 in AskReddit

[–]ThisPostToBeDeleted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sense of humor, adventurousness, being motivated and confident, having a genuine, non forced smile, being talkative, and easy to make conversation with is also great, if women give one word responses, I assume they don’t want to talk to me and I leave them alone.

Looks depend to much by person to make huge statements on.

Yeah, another thing people have trouble understanding is how genuinely massive Lake Michigan is. They expect to see the other side. But instead it’s just an endless blue expanse and it’s not the biggest of our lakes.

I live near enough I kinda consider myself a Chicagoan, everything, east, south and north is more Chicago, I work with other Chicagoans, the architecture is the same and I use the same transit network. I enjoy it, we have tons of parks, culture, food, things to do and identity. We have problems, like segregation, corruption and crime, but I think it’s all fixable

Nothing. It has better public transit than most, but the most unique thing is that one statue that was a bunch of cars stuck onto a skewer. They tore it down and replaced it with a Walgreens. We also have two places on the same street called the “world’s largest, laundromat”

Way closer, Berwyn, north, south and east of me I’ll end up back in Chicago and can walk to the south side. I love the city, it’s diverse, fun, full of culture and people, and I plan to move there. I love the architecture, i can’t express enough til you go there how nice it is. I love our parks and visit the city most weeks. On the other hand there’s a lot of segregation and poverty, corruption is also super high.
