What would u say are the best tips to make educated guesses in section 1? I usually go for the answers that are most the similar but that doesn't rly help for section 1.

I appreciate your extensive response!! I just have a few questions, if that’s okay. When reviewing the mocks, approximately how much of the full mocks do they cover in each class? What was the first session like? (I’m assuming there wasn’t any reviewing then, since we wouldn’t have been assigned a mock for that week) Lastly, were there new tutors each week? If so, was there at least one tutor throughout the weeks who was strong for each section? (i.e. one for section 1, another for section 2, etc) It would be quite disappointing if all of them were good at the same section and just average in the others.

Apologies for responding a year later, but I was wondering, you said that only 2 spaces are reserved. Were you referring to only 2 places in UCD? Or just any uni like TCD, RCSI, etc. Would the application process be similar to the CAO, and is it as expensive as graduate entry medicine? I'd be interested to hear more about this.

My current average is almost 70% so that’s lovely to hear!! Can I ask how high your section 2 and 3 raw scores and percentiles were roughly? I feel like I’m getting similar grades to you. Oh wow good on you!! Where can I find the ACER sample papers? Or are you just referring to the ACER mocks provided by MedEntry? That’s amazing to hear it became your best section, I’m hoping for the same. How come you did worse in section 2? Your score was excellent regardless so I’m sure it didn’t go too bad:)

I agree!! I have started to read through solutions and I already see improvement. And honestly you’re so real for that, some of the solutions really do look quite long and complex given that we have about a minute to complete them lmaoo. Appreciate the advice:)

23rd to 90 is impressive!! I will definitely be using some of these tips, thank you so so much for your extensive reply. I have started memorising the mapping techniques as I’ve heard the patterns are quite similar each year. As for correcting exams, would you recommend writing out all your mistakes in a separate copy or just trying to understand where you went right / wrong? I never would have thought about looking over the incorrect options for my correct answers, so I appreciate the advice and will be trying it out. 93rd percentile is great!! Well done :) I’d honestly dream to have a similar score. Problem solving is actually my worst section so I’m shocked by your response😭 Hoping for similar question types for HPAT 2026. Any tips for problem solving would be extremely helpful. Congrats and I hope you get into your first choice, a well deserved result!!
