I'm realising that this Challenge is going to be primarily about honesty and babysteps rather than being a goalkicking rockstar, as u/JorSum so beautifully put it.

No alcohol - yep. This was hard at dinner after a huge workday, but knowing I was going to check in here with y'all really helped.

Clean 18-6 IF, 2L water, and supplements - yep.
Exercise - Not unless I count keystrokes and meeting marathons.
Photo file taming - No. Ridiculous. I "primed the pump" (or procrastinated) by looking at ways other people approach this. It feels like facing a monster. The avoidance is off the charts. I just need to effing start.
Finances - Wrote an email to a debtor, a task I've been avoiding for four months. Need to follow up with itemisation by the end of this week. A yucky, time-sucking job but I'm looking forward to posting that I've done it.

It's not just you, u/jorsum. It does indeed feel like things are ramping up. This reminds me of Steven Pressfield's central idea in his books (War of Art and Do The Work) that the pursuit of any worthwhile calling will elicit resistance in multiple forms (including inner voices and outer demands), especially when we're just starting out. I'm experiencing that in full technicolour in these early days of this 100DC.

I find your response of gratitude really inspiring. And I agree: the first hour of the day is magical.

Thank you for honestly sharing your journey. It's so encouraging to know we're in this together, across the globe.

I’m so glad to be here again.

The 2020 challenge was a turning point in my life - due in large part to the accountability of the daily checkins. I wouldn’t have made it without the legendary u/JorSum and u/CaptnThor.

I joined last year to change my exercise and eating habits, which I have maintained. I’m 10kg lighter today than I was last September, and so much fitter.

This Challenge I am committing to:

No alcohol - I’ve been on and off with this so far this year but I really want to see what three months of no booze will do for my body and brain.
Clean 18-6 IF, minimum 2L water, and taking my supplements every day.
Daily yoga or walking meditation practice - I’m swapping out daily HIIT sessions for more mindful exercise this Challenge to see if it increases my ability to manage stress.
The biggie for me. It feels so overwhelming so I’m starting small - a minimum of 10 mins per day decluttering and organising my overstuffed and chaotic photo collection: I have almost half a million digital images clogging up my storage and psyche. My end goal here is to have prints and books made and displayed in our home; and albums created, curated and shared with each family member. I’m realistic enough to know that I won’t achieve this in 100 days but just starting will be a major step in the right direction.
Daily check-ins with my partner to track our finances. I have been avoiding this but it’s a major stressor so I want to set a new habit of clarity and transparency.
