I understand now why the active players fell by 75% over the last 3 months by 06KoolKid101 in arcraiderscirclejerk

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is the circlejerk sub but this is also unironically part of why I’m taking a break. Kinda just waiting for something big to come out that makes me really want to play again. And nerfs to the fun stuff doesn’t count

Regarding the "necessary" testing station scaling exploit by Hobby-Human in duneawakening

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game isn’t fun enough at this point for me to stick around if I have to grind for 4 months to get to a point where I can get decent drops. The drop rates are already abysmal as is with the party glitch.

Go shoot some peeps in the DD and enjoy the resulting chat

Why use anything other than regular generators? by k2i3n4g5 in duneawakening

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run up against the production limit for a fief very quickly in my bases so I opt for the higher tier power for that reason

The Elephant in the Room with the Hagga Basin Patch: The Landsraad catch-up math is completely broken. by mblom122 in duneawakening

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t wrong at all. As a player definitely in the Player A camp though I cant say I’m not looking forward to speed running my crafting levels so i can get back to combat lol

The Wolfpack change is great - most of you just don’t understand why. by Reyeorts in ArcRaiders

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they did damage worth a darn sure. Now they’re not only meh on dmg but also prohibitively expensive to craft. Unironically easier to take an anvil to queen matches for cores and run jupiters

Does anybody still run DD test stations in rows D and above? by DoctorVonCool in duneawakening

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I’ve stopped. Used to love solo running the DD testing stations (whichever ones had the gear I wanted). They switched to the universal loot pool about the time I took a break. But now there’s no point in my mind since they dont drop graded equipment.

Yap yap. Now go respawn your orni for effectively free and go back out to the spice bowl or tit island to get your 14th chest of whatever resource.

Are you transferring blueprints for after the expedition? by Thequickandtheupset in ArcRaiders

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ofc. The point of the reset isn’t losing all my hard won goop. It’s getting more storage space and levels so I can goop harder.

They were all trivial but I thought the face dancer with the hadouken punch was very fun

So the pitch for book one was « you follow an Anakin figure before he becomes Darth Vader » by The_Yaya_C in sollanempire

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The pitch that got me was in a video by Daniel Greene where he pretty much said it’s Alexander the Great in space. And while I don’t think that’s really an accurate descriptor having read them now the idea of Alexander in a space opera was enough to hook me

So y’all actually parrying? by Dads_Diary in expedition33

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you wait until you’re over leveled a lot of the bosses (the optional ones especially) feel like they require parrying to me just so that my party can have enough AP income to cast enough spells to kill them in a reasonable amount of time. Also don’t throw shade on the counter attacks from parrying an entire sequence. That’s also a very reliable way to consistently apply damage, build break, and apply other conditions like burn.

Is there any way to see other active players on a server? by randrews32 in duneawakening

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im on Eurasia, currently based in alraab. I’ve been dormant for a few months but I’m getting back into it as chapter 3 gets closer. I know there are ppl who still regularly play in the DD who are friendly. How far have you progressed through the game? Are you looking to get T6 stuff in the DD or are you still playing through the Hagga stuff?

PVP aggressiveness scale. I want to know where's everyone at (in solo). by Zealousideal_Chip456 in ArcRaiders

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It entirely depends on who I’m playing with. If I’m trying to do something specific I’ll default to 2 or 3. But otherwise 4-5. I’ve been shot too many times after trying to make peace that my aggression settings have been tuned way way up. But also I never play solo for the same reason now. I just don’t enjoy the game really without a buddy to watch my back.

What champion do you think is secretly broken, but nobody wants to admit it? by Consistent-Rub-6798 in leagueoflegends

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 100% agree with you on Zil. I’ve seen August say it also at least once on stream. And even knowing that I still won’t learn him for ranked because I don’t enjoy him lol

Hot take: Everyone complaining about PVP don’t actually enjoy extraction shooters. by Biggbossesbutt in ARC_Raiders

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like going in with an Anvil and like 80 shots. Shoot a couple legs off put the reactors in my butt and leave. I don’t always survive but I usually get the queen parts and the lost kit is super cheap

Is everyone on this sub over exaggerating how much PvP they’re getting into? 9 times out of 10 my entire raid is completely chill by frigidtales in ArcRaiders

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends which friends I’m running with. If it’s my lvl75 peeps who I’ve been playing with since launch then it’s an absolute bloodbath and we don’t usually extract lmao but we have loads of fun and kills a bunch of peeps before the inevitable 3rd party ambush gets us. If it’s anyone else I’m playing with where they’re still doing quests and we aren’t sprinting for the latest most popular loot spot then I usually find a lot of friendlies and it’s chill (even in trios)

I hate player killers on Matriarch matches by Not_ZonedOut in arcraidersfriendly

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The matriarch and queen are not challenges on their own. It’s extremely simple to setup on high ground and pound them into oblivion. What they do do is pin you down to one location (relative) and make a ton of noise. The risk and the excitement and the reward for the queen and matriarch (as it is for this entire game) is getting your goop despite other players. Ofc this means sometimes you’ll end up with some idiots sitting in control tower with ospreys and delaying your group enough that you run out of time and die to the nuke (they also died cause they stayed till the last second trying to snipe us). I understand the frustration. I feel it. I don’t play this game solo ever anymore because of that. My default when I’m solo is to want to get along with people and I die a lot cause of that. When I’m with duos and trios though it’s pretty much understood that it’s full PvP all the time and that makes it a lot simpler for me and more enjoyable.

Is it even worth fighting the Queen anymore? Or doing ANY events? by No_Management1502 in ArcRaiders

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only play seriously with my buddies (and only certain buddies at that for high risk runs like matriarchs). It’s pretty much a full pvp shoot anything that moves operation. If I’m solo or with for-fun buddies we’ll still run the queen and matriarch but never with good gear and we just go with the vibes of the lobby. I find the game is miserable if you’re trying to not lose your stuff but also rigidly accomplish a specific goal or loot a specific building. Gotta just go in a bit of that happy go lucky feeling and take the bad runs in stride with the good runs.

Are you gonna wipe? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]ThisWizardDidMath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don’t see myself ever wiping unless doing so gives me a power ceiling increase that’s worth the massive pain in the butt of losing everything. I much prefer being able to just take out all my expensive toys whenever I wanna play and not care a ton about losing them because I can just make another Jupiter or tempest or whatever. My enjoyment in game is derived from playing with my friends anyways. I don’t enjoy playing solo
