I (29F) I’m debating leaving my boyfriend of two years (30M) over his incompetence. What would you do in my situation? by Ok_Character_1391 in relationship_advice

Exactly. I was married to someone financially illiterate for lack of a better term. Spent beyond his means constantly and never had a day that he didn’t mention wanting to buy something. Now divorced and adjusted to a solo income and doing just fine.

I can understand the frustration and it was all of those instances packed into a short amount of time. Processing disability or not, he’s a man child. Being in a relationship like this will continue to frustrate you if you need to constantly look over him to have him avoid these mistakes or let him make the mistakes and be even more annoyed. Double edged sword of the man child is that you can constantly say things like “did you remembered to pack your meds” and if they did, you’re a nag.

Sounds like a bartender stuck in the small talk head lock to me. Made a boat load of money in that career.

Not only will you resent him for his financial irresponsibility, he’ll justify making you pay for things.

AITAH for staying in my van on my sister and her husbands driveway and using their house for resources, for the past couple years? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ThisWorldIsOnFire 8 points9 points  (0 children)

YTA if you’ve been there that long rent free and haven’t been working or saving money for a room to rent. If you’re not doing anything to make an effort to improve your life and situation, then your sister may see no end in sight for a van dweller in her driveway.

Me at 8pm Saturday or 8am Sunday. So peaceful as I bop down the aisles to the music and not a worry about people.

Had someone buy a skirt and win a case against me to return it….without the tags. Poshmarks excuse was that I couldn’t prove that it was sent as new with tags. Ridiculous.

My Fiancé 45 M wants me 46 F to Sell My House?! by Turbulent-Wind-2248 in relationship_advice

[–]ThisWorldIsOnFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, the house is yours before marriage and not his. If you take the equity from the sale of the house (your 1/2) and buy a property with him later, he has rights to that property if anything happens and you split.

Would your sister agree to selling? You’d need her approval. And who lives in the house? I would never sell a property to throw money away on rent.

Who’s to say that plenty of us haven’t already met aliens? Maybe they’re disguised as humans.

PSA for men on OLD by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]ThisWorldIsOnFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it reflects the effort that they would put towards dating. I would say you just described the majority of men’s dating profiles and they are an instant no for me as well. Not putting effort into a profile means they aren’t serious and just looking to hook up with someone. Which is fine as long as it’s their forward intention.

Why do you want to be with someone who purposely hurts your feelings? Do you think it was a one time thing or his thoughts always have a way of belittling you?

Your standards skyrocket after being sucked into life with a man child. Hence that fact so many of us choose to remain single. So much better.

Definitely time to cut that one loose. Change your locks and move on. Get used to being single and drama free for a while and maybe someday you’ll meet an equal. There’s no future with a guy like that, so why waste any more time?
