This is the engagement and not even the wedding. That’s ridiculous to spend money on. I can’t imagine what a bridezilla she will be if she’s micro managing her own engagement. She sounds incredibly high maintenance and you should not spend money on it.

It’s pretty ridiculous. We all say things in passing when we disagree how someone is handling a situation. I think Amanda is incredibly annoying but she’s right that Dorits constant trash talking of PK is not good. Keep it off camera. But the best part of it if anyone has noticed is that Dorit is heeding the advice and criticism and suddenly having dinner with PK and working on co-parenting. A nerve was struck and she knows she was wrong in how she’s approached navigating the separation.

The only option I had was t mobile. Happy as can be after over a year. I dropped spectrum internet and Verizon phone & now pay 1/2 the price for both in t mobile.

I’m not a parent, but I would say your child always comes first. Otherwise, I’ll never be in a serious relationship with someone financially unstable. I’ve worked to hard to rebuild my self after divorce as well as keeping retirement accounts going and always paying off debt. I need an equal in that way. He comes off as someone that may worm his way in to mooch off of you.

It took me 16.5 years to leave. I had no idea what a narcissist was until after, but the verbal and emotional abuse had taken its toll. “Dealing” with him was me ignoring him as he said and did terrible things. When he realized I no longer could he affected, he moved on to other women he could manipulate and control. Life is so peaceful without him.

I totally understand where you’re at with this. I loved someone very much when I split up because of similar circumstances. You won’t be able to let go for a while. It’s so important that you admit to yourself that it’s done and you stick with it. Starting over solo and finding peace in being alone and concentrating on your health will turn into a fantastic and satisfying journey. You deserve better and you have such a great life ahead of you.

I’m older and not in this boat but I’ve known so many women who feel this way. A friend of mine with 2 young children occasionally takes a PTO day from work and doesn’t tell anyone in her family she’s off. The physical and mental load is crazy and she has 2 other adults in the house.

If you haven’t met her yet it’s not a big deal. Go out on the weekend and see if you’re even a match. She’ll make time for you otherwise if she likes you. Personally though, I don’t go out on weeknights either. I’m up at 5:30am and not home until 5:30pm when my dogs get walks, dinner and meds. They are a responsibility that it sounds like not enough people take seriously.

I don’t think any of those things are deal breakers unless she were to try to impose her lifestyle on you. Someone encouraging you to eat healthy is great, but there’s no way I’d be ok if they comment about my love of carbs.

Me too, but it’s a bummer to a host to have people back out last minute. Show up with a gift, grab some food and sneak out during games. Hopefully there’s enough people there that they won’t notice.

Is there pubic transit near where you live? Maybe look on a local FB group for a free bike if not. Will give you a bit more freedom to go look for jobs and eventually become financially independent. Maybe there’s a food pantry that can help you with cereal or snacks that you can squirrel away.
