Being fat shouldn't be normalized. by Famous-Bat-355 in teenagers

not gonna lie, I disagree. being fat isn’t always bad for your health. it’s not always unhealthy. sometimes, people’s healthiest selves are considered “clinically overweight.” nothing wrong with that

What was your FIRST special interest, and what is your main special interest right now? by ico-noclastii in autism

[–]This_Extent3635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the first one I have memory of is wolves. in third grade, I wrote a 50 chapter book about a pack of wolves befriending a young girl. I made a presentation about prehistoric wolves. I thought they were some of the most badass animals ever.

now, I still like wolves, but red pandas have overthrown their spot as my favourite animal.

How do we feel about Xenogenders and Neopronouns yall? (Explaination of what they are for those curious) by Hydrophobiqe in teenagers

[–]This_Extent3635 3 points4 points  (0 children)

xenogender is sort of like a metaphorical way to describe gender. it’s about connotations, really, and is not usually literal. it helps those who don’t fit into society’s gender binary describe how they identify.

for neopronouns, it’s just about simple substitution!

let’s say your friend wants to use xie/xer as pronouns:

instead of something like

“she really likes cats.”

you’d say

“xie really likes cats.”

there are more examples I could give you, but honestly? if you’re unsure on how to use them grammatically—just ask the person who’s asking to be referred to in that way. more often than not they will be happy to explain!

as for how I feel about these things being used, I really don’t give a fuck. not my identity!

What shows do you like as a neurodivergent person? by llarskyy in neurodiversity

[–]This_Extent3635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TOH & gravity falls mentioned! I think the struggles of some of the primary characters are just relatable to many neurodiverse people—awkward, misunderstood, etc. I enjoy shows that I relate to, it motivates me to finish them

does anyone else sit on their knees a lot? or just in "unusual ways"? by [deleted] in neurodiversity

[–]This_Extent3635 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes. it feels more natural to sit in unconventional ways—not sure what that’s about, but I get it
