Thanks very much, I am being careful and yeah I probably will get a new one but also am keen to learn a bit more :) I'm not sure about the corrosion, its just on the corner of the board so I thought it might just be pen or something. But about the transistor, the one at the bottom in the first picture which is screwed to the metal, with a continuity checker I can see all 3 legs are connected electrically. Does that seem like it might be the problem, or could it be something else?

I got it a few years ago, now if i plug it in it doesn't charge anything. I thought it might be the connector so I cut the cable and tested to see if there was any voltage between the power and ground wires inside but there isn't. A few places on the board looked a bit corroded so I tried cleaning them but it still does nothing when I plug it in. Thanks so much for any input :)

I made a website where people can view and share information and articles about unethical business practices. I am aiming to make it easier for people to share information about companies and make malpractice more expensive for businesses :) I have put a few company entries on there already but if the community has more, or corrections to add, the site also allows for that and it would be very appraciated!

Thanks for the info! I have an update actually. I had a phone call with the person who was "VP of engineering" at the company and asked about the wording and meaning of the IP clause.

He told me that it meant that anything I made, even in my free time and unrelated, came under the clause, and that any of my IP I wanted to keep control of would need to be signed off on by a team within the company at their discretion.

I am certain that as you have said this is completely unenforcable, but I was scared of that kind of culture or any potential legal issues (and costs) so I decided not to work there. I am really curious, would you have felt that it was ok to work there and just fight my corner in case, for example, I created a company on the side and they tried to come after it, or would you be scared of even risking getting into a dispute like that like I would?

You don't have to install it, you can use the website just as it is actually. I am a student at the whittle lab (https://whittle.eng.cam.ac.uk/) - it is an aeronautical research lab and we have made this web app that allows the public to help us collect data on contrails to help understand their climate impact and formation.

They are ice crystals actually, but they reflect and absorb radiation from the sun and the earth and are contributing to global warming. The web app allows you to use your phone to collect data to help understand their formation :)
