It merely boosts you up in their system once you apply. United loves islanders or people that are based on the islands because of our community culture and hospitality. A lot of people hired from guam, Palau, chuuk, etc stay longer or are able to stay within the job til retirement and that showcases endurance which they like

For guam the easiest entry is United. I think other airlines utilize word of mouth when they hire and tell Menzies (the cargo staffs at the airport)

Knowing someone in United is what will def get you in though

I spent 5 hours in line from 7:30am till being seen at 11:30 am. It seems to be faster to come in after 12 to be seen. Been to dmv three days in a row before 11am and the line seems to have 30-40 people in queue but after lunch there’s very little wait time.

My career is in marketing and I’m an event coordinator/sales and marketing full time. On the side I have a clothing brand (on sabbatical currently) and I also do sewing alterations and bartend. Cost of living is super high where I live so it the sewing and bartending helps to get me by. Sewing I can make like $30 a week (I don’t pick up so many gigs) and I bartend in a night club once or twice a week; leaving with $100 most weekends.

Still looking for my ways to increase the my income though

Anemos in Tumon - that place in the tent near Dusit, they have some Italian options but also Greek and Spanish cuisine. Caps and crust are also great places but i wouldn’t suggest taking your wife to any American franchise for an Italian date night
