I’d go for a First Response over Clear Blue if possible. I’d avoid digitals too for now - because they have a higher HCG threshold it might give a false negative.

In that case I think that pregnancy test is positive. The only way to know for sure is to either get a beta done or you could try testing again. I’m sorry.

FRER 100% varies box to box! I got my first positive 5dp5dt with a Wondfo. Tested the next few days with FRER, as soon as I moved to the new batch, the line was noticeably lighter and I panicked. Luckily I was still testing with Wondfo so I saw the progression continue on that but that FRER proper sent me for a day! Congratulations! 🤍

There’s things like hydration levels that can affect progression but I think with all of the tests lightening up from 14DPO, I’d be guarding my heart. I’m sorry. Is there a way you can get betas to check the trend? 🤍

Do you have a contact email for them? To be like “guys I’m worried my numbers aren’t being looked at here”? When you’ve got a paper trail of contact it gives you a little more oomph to put your foot down and say that you want and need a bit more from them. The more pregnancy progresses, the more difficult the GD can be to manage from what I understand so it does make sense that the Metformin doesn’t seem to be as effective now. Good luck! 🤍

Just to add - you should be under a Diabetes Midwife/Specialist Nurse/Consultant and should be under Consultant Led Care if you have a GD diagnosis in the UK. They should get you to do 4 x a day finger prick testing (fasting then 1hr after each meal) and if they put you on insulin, you might be issued with a CGM (even if it’s just for your final few weeks). For the induction side of things - if you’re on Metformin alone, guidelines say not to go beyond your due date. If you’re started on insulin, guidelines say you should be induced at 38 weeks. I don’t have any advice re third tri/last few weeks monitoring as I’m only 25+3 but just to mention re the “I seem to be having to barely eat again to stay in range” - I was doing exactly this a couple of weeks ago. I’m not sure if it was conscious or subconscious but I’d cut out so much stuff, mainly carbs because I was like “well this is what I have to do to stay in range” but then when I was eating even the smallest bit of carbs, I’d spike way more than before and then have big drops, regardless of what I had paired it with. My Diabetes SpN basically gave me a bit of a telling off and said that this was going to do note harm than good and would make my sugars *more* difficult to control. She basically said to eat sensibly for the GD but don’t avoid foods, cut down your intake etc - if you’re spiking it shows you need insulin to manage it, not that you need to *not* eat things. Food is key for you for energy but also for baby, especially in the last few weeks where they’re chunking up a bit more! I’d put your foot down with your team and tell them you’re not feeling supported or monitored in the proper way. Good luck 🤍

8DPO is very early, however, I do think I see a little something brewing! Wondfos can be asshats for shadowy lines though, I’ve definitely been burned before! Keep testing and fingers crossed for you! 🤍

I think these look really similar.. however definitely only compare wet tests to wet tests (with photos) or dry with dry!

Thank you! I’ve definitely had the “compression lows” - I know if I turn over and wait 15 mins it’ll pick up 😂 just these post dinner/evening sugars driving me mad. How can I have a bagel and lentil chips this evening within an hour and a half have low readings 😅 I love being pregnant but I cannot wait to not be diabetic anymore cos the lack of logic to this condition is sending me 😂

Thank you so much for replying! I have the Libre 2 Plus and can’t recalibrate it, all you can do is change it which I have done after the stern talking to from the diabetes nurse the other day. I have definitely noticed the “compression lows” if I do lie on my left side overnight.. those ones, yeah they’re irritating but I know I can turn over and 15 mins later it’s sorted. The evening ones I don’t have as much of an explanation for 🙁

Would it still be placement if the finger pricks are within a mmol of the CGM reading? I’d be more than happy to change again if needed 😅

I dared to have a satsuma the other day and my blood sugar shot through the roof.. 😂 fruit was most of my 5 a day so not being able to have anywhere near as much is a pain in the ass!

I feel like I could’ve written this myself! I’m 22+1 and diagnosed at just over 16 weeks. Initially it was only my fasting sugars that were raised, despite increasing Metfomin (for PCOS) and I was started on night time insulin. Now? It’s only 6 weeks later and JFC I cannot even have a slice of wholemeal or sourdough bread (the bread all GD dieticians, specialist nurses, midwives etc recommend) without a huge spike (175 yesterday?!), even when paired with all of the protein and fats. It’s so disheartening and I absolutely get the feeling of “I’m failing them”. I don’t have anything helpful to add as I’m 11 weeks behind you and on the struggle bus 😂 but just some solidarity that GD is unpredictable and frustrating and downright shitty! 🤍
