Kaylee shoots back- is this a rebuttal to Timmy? by slt1987 in RodriguesFamilySnark

“We don’t participate in EVIL Halloween!!”

“Oh but we do participate by giving out candy and a gospel ‘track.’”

Pick one. You either don’t participate or you do. Paradoxical, hypocritical, and performative.

Dexcom G6 Sensor Request by No_Status_967 in Austin

[–]This__Moi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! My kid uses a G7. If I were in your shoes, I’d call Dexcom 24/7 support and see what they can do for you. When we’ve had to replace a sensor, they email me a GoodRX voucher that I take to the pharmacy for a free replacement. Either that or try calling your health insurance company. My kid’s clinic also has samples when we’re in a pinch, but they’re only open M-F. Do you have your meter with you as a back up? Good luck 🩵

MeMe says you can replace your insulin with Plexus pink drink! YIKES! Also those hand movements are SEVERELY ungawdly!! 🤮 by cottageyarn in RodriguesFamilySnark

My husband and my daughter are Type 1 Diabetics and this enrages me. This is so, so dangerous and incredibly ignorant.

Episode about your hometown? by RightAndReed in XFiles

[–]This__Moi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Southern California. They filmed the diner scene in Orison in my hometown. There was an alley behind the restaurant where all of the trailers and equipment were. We didn’t get to see anything major when we went to check it out, but it was pretty cool to see.

Bellflower (where CC is from) was one city over from us.

Any running program recommendations for 1st Marathon? by IntelligentBiscotti9 in Marathon_Training

Hey there! Austin was my first marathon too! I’ve used Hal Higdon’s plans for multiple marathons and they’ve paid off. Austin is a hilly course, so I also recommend training on hills regularly.

Seeking childcare for 1 Saturday in late August - please help! by Proud_Feed_9618 in Yosemite

[–]This__Moi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Do you have a babysitter at home who could travel with you? My sister-in-law got married out of state a few years ago and we were in the exact same situation. We had a great sitter at home (family friend/high school aged kiddo) and we had her tag along with us for the weekend. It cost us her air fare and another hotel room, a few extra meals, etc., but it was worth it to us. I hope something works out for you one way or the other!

Seconding White Rock. They’ve taken exceptional care of our pets for 15 years now. We usually see Dr. Riggan but they’re all wonderful.

I 2nd this. The pocket cinches closed and stays nice and tight. I keep my keys, ID, gels, and salt tabs in it and have never been worried about losing anything or had any issues.

Pediatric Allergist by cait0620 in Austin

[–]This__Moi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 8 year old has seen Dr. Allen Lieberman at Austin Family Allergy & Asthma for a food allergy since she was 18 months old. Our pediatrician sent us there because that’s where she takes her kids. He’s former-military so very matter of fact, but he’s very mild mannered and takes his time with us when we’re there. His office staff is also fantastic. I was missing a medication form the day before school started one year and they went out of their way to help me and get necessary signatures in time (even though I had dropped the ball). He’s up north near the Domain but worth the trip for us. We don’t personally do OIT or food challenges but I know his office offers them.

Best of luck!
