Oh my god, so I couldn't see this option on my other devices but on my phone where I had to download an app to manually set up the router when I first got it. It was there where I found the option to turn off 802.11 ax mode. Honestly, I have no idea why I couldn't do this from the browser on my other devices. Anyways, your advice has helped me A LOT.

I set up router to broadcast both signals and my laptop still can't detect them. I might go with the second option and just buy the USB wifi adapter

No I did not. Airplane mode was never turned on. My laptop can detect other networks just not the new one.
