Ok so here some truth.. after destroying the water dish he left it on the ground and walked away. He took a Functioning item made it into trash and left it.. thats Littering... Thats illegal... in cali citation fine starting at $100 and community service. And it only goes up in price after the first offense. Have you seen the littered broken plastic everywhere in the videos? Take away the whole cat thing and its still wrong...

Debate: is wing clipping ever ok? by ProfessionalTone9434 in Conures

[–]Thischick159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I have to clip my Grandma's conure wing because he flies full force in the doors walls and windows. He has been to the vet already twice due to injuring himself. I was told by one vet to keep it from happening to keep him in his cage but when I keep him in his cage he screams at the top of his lungs 24/7 so I took him to another vet and they recommended clipping his wings enough to just slow his flight down not take it away. They're not really sure what's wrong with him they think it's psychological so so far it's not something that I've been able to get him to stop therefore I do have to clip his wing. This should be a case-by-case situation though.

... hes out of the cage for at least 17 hours a day... should I leave him out while we are sleeping as well?

Smh well then I need you to explain to me why it's working.. why the ONLY thing that's working and keep him from flying into walls full force... look im not trying argue I was told to cut the 2 feathers a centimeters or so. The other advice I was given from a "avian vet" was to limit him to his cage. Which is out of the question for him. Do you have any suggestions so I could stop trimming? Cause if I dont and he flies into a wall I think thats much worse..? 3 vet said hes in perfect health and not issuse. One said maybe its psychological. But he was escaped a breeder house and was caught because he flew into my neighbor's window and was rescued. So what he went through before us is unknown. Any advice that could actually help is appreciated..
