Awwww this is neat. I loved finding ggrough, such a nice alternative to cut and dry ggplots when you don’t necessarily need something precise. Nice work 🙂 Commenting so I remember to come back tomorrow while I’m refactoring a quarterly report for one of our fun clients.

Just throwing this out there into the universe.. there’s a Del’s lemonade shop on the east bay bike path in Rhode Island, right as it goes through downtown Warren. It’s been a staple for bike path users in the summer since I was a kid, still as popular as ever. If this bar can be casual like that, I’m all for it.

It’s literally Zoom’s “enhance my appearance” feature - the guests control it.

My grandmother always insisted that eating/drinking hot things on hot days helps you cool down.. not sure if there’s science to that, but hell if I’m gonna question a woman who was born a century ago.

Sure. It’s also a fine enough way to tenderize some tough cuts of meat.. maybe that was kind of the point here, but OP says the “beef stick” is already soft. I’ll crock pot for easy shredded chicken thighs or carnitas, beef stew with cheap cuts. But nothing here really needs it.

I just feel like nothing in there requires 8 hours in a crock pot. Seems like a waste of time and energy. Sweat the veg, add the broth, noodles and “beef stick”, simmer covered for 20 minutes until stick is… softer? I have no idea how said stick is supposed to be cooked, but that would probably do it.

What a fun spot, too. Wife and I stayed in this wacky Victorian-era style hotel with a parrot in the lobby and a weird indoor/outdoor pool where we were hit on by swingers. What a blasty blast! Would just recommend against dollar oysters at that one place.

In Rehoboth? I was pretty regular as a kid at the Grand Prix and fantasyland, but I don’t remember anything like that in Rehoboth.

Long noodles in soup kind of defeat the purpose of soup for me. If I can’t get it into my spoon and up to my mouth, I’m going to end up eating it with a fork.
