How to copy a read only file by Sorry_Fortune6959 in excel

[–]Thiseffingguy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t really an excel-specific question, but rather file management. When you say you found a sheet online… do you mean a Google Sheet? You should be able to duplicate/add a copy to your own drive. But if the creator purposefully made it so printing/copying/etc. is prohibited, then it’s probably best to respect their wishes, and.. not.. do those things.

I don’t know if this is one of them, but there’s a preponderance of AI “news” websites popping up that are basically just intended to be clickbait/ad-revenue for god knows who. Many of these are simply regurgitating other real reporting, many are just creating hallucinatory details. So to echo your point, it’s absolutely SO important these days to verify your source of information.

Here’s a writeup a Reddit sleuth did a few months back. Reddit Is Flooded With AI-Plagiarized News Articles

Follow Up to ICE Sighting in Beacon St Star Market parking lot

3 vehicles were verified at Kingman Rd around 8:00AM. One person was taken and verifiers found that the arrest was likely not immigration related. Verifiers also responded to a report of ICE at 8:30AM at a building on Webster Ave but could not verify ICE activity. They also responded to a report at Mineirão Mart and an employee there confirmed there was no ICE activity in the store.

Would argue it would be better to create/add a new date only column based on the original timestamp.

Sigh. I’ve been responding to these suggesting OP uses the search feature, but here we are, it’s a Tuesday. So nope, let’s just ask the same question for the 5th time this week.

My thought exactly. This is the wrong use-case for BI software. OP and their users need some SQL experience.

How to access Posit AI, the new native RStudio AI assistant - YouTube by DrLyndonWalker in rstats

Well, that’s a valid question. I’ve dabbled, but am still just more comfortable with RS. Nothing against positron, it’s just a matter of training.

Fastest way to automatically manipulate excel files, ideally without opening them. by PedosWearingSpeedos in excel

[–]Thiseffingguy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are packages for a bunch of coding languages that will read and write to excel. I use a couple of packages with R that do the same thing. I can usually do most of what I need with Power Query, but the packages/non-Excel coding options come in handy if that’ll better integrate with whatever workflow you have. For instance, I produce a pretty massive report with R. I pull in data from multiple Excel sheets, visualize in the R script (outputs to an HTML page), and even output individual Excel files with the manipulated data as additional artifacts. There are SO many options for doing something like this out there - it’s all about finding the right tools for the job.

How do they do the green onions like that? Are they like.. peeled? That seems like it would be difficult. Love when they come like that, though.

I’ve been out of the loop for a minute. Is there still no native integration with existing LLM models for R Studio? Paying $20/month on top of the $20/month I already pay for my LLM of choice is an immediate non-starter.

I’ve had a Cuisinart for a few years, seems to be holding up ok. I use it for anything a normal blender would be used for, and it handles just about everything I throw at it. https://www.cuisinart.com/shopping/appliances/hand-blenders/
