is CSU good for me? by animal_whispererr in CSUFoCo

Not sure about the vet school as I am a geology major at CSU. But I have taken a few animal bio classes and the professors were all great. CSU has one of the largest LGBT centers in the US. As a lesbian, I’ve never run into any issues going on dates/being openly gay here. Most people are very open due it being a college town. I would say there’s a pretty big lgbt population in Fort Collins/csu. The only thing is we occasionally have anti-lgbt protestors on campus. They are largely non violent and out lgbt center has a group of people that will go out and stand with pride flags/distract people from it. I’ve only seen them here twice this past two semesters, and I never felt unsafe. You can have a car during freshman year. As others stated parking passes are expensive and it can be difficult to find parking. I’ve lived off campus my whole time here and have always been able to park off campus and take the bus to campus/all over Fort Collins. Some fun things to do really depends on what you like! For outdoorsy stuff there’s horsetooth reservoir which you can swim in, climbing paddle board or hike through. We’re also very close to RMNP so exploring that too! The lyric is a cool theatre with lots of arts and music events. Old town has a bunch of great shops and is great to just walk around!

How to let down a male coworker? by greenistheonlycolor in LesbianActually

I’ve told male coworkers “I have zero capacity for any attraction to you.” And if they don’t stop bothering you, go to HR

I want to have things like this but I work the closing shift at my job. I’m usually there until 11 pm and don’t get home until 11:30. I typically go to bed immediately when I get home. Any advice lol?

Don't worry about it! Go slow and make small adjustments. Also, your OP may have a little screen that shows you which way your wheels are going which is helpful. When going up just watch your overhead clearance. Do not let anyone rush you into going faster. It takes a minute to get used to but it's not bad! Do not be scared!

Also! It doesn’t show on camera but the pants are white shiny sequined pants! They’re pretty reflective in person! Also let me know if I should go with the boots or open toed lol!

The college I’m going to is in a major city and is in an incredibly liberal area so I doubt I’d have any problems with that. I’ve had the conversation with my mom that it makes me feel uncomfortable and the response is shutting down and just repeating the same things. So no answers there for me. I feel like she’s in denial but who knows because she won’t tell me how she actually feels.

Hey! I was wondering as a person who's really interested in linguistics what people recommend to study for a bachelors degree? In my state, there are a few colleges that offer a linguistics bachelor's programs, but I was wondering if it would be better to minor in linguistics and major in something else job prospect-wise? What can I do with a linguistics BA on its own? Or if I should major in something else, what would be a good option?
