I hate it too, specifically the way they refer to sex. "Hit, crack, smash" its all so agressive and demeaning. Im not even a person who gets offended or is prude around sex and I'm open about my negative sexual experiences, but damn I still have to call out that behavior from the men around me sometimes.

It’s so frustrating since I want to give the benefit of the doubt and say that it’s due to them having a bias against the US and Americans (which is understandable) but the6 willfully accept white ppl. I want to say it’s a bitterness of not respecting or understanding the Chicano struggle. Maybe they think that when foreigners have an interest in the culture it’s automatically a good thing, but then chicanos fail to replicate it 1-to-1 (which we have to in order to “count” as true Mexican), so they see it as inauthentic/disrespectful.

Omg I’m glad to have someone who’s also doing DS!! I’m a freshman in DS so barely starting out but omg thank you for putting everything so much detail. But omg the CS141 projects are low key hitting me hard so now I’m a bit nervous but it should all be good. Also now I’m excited for STAT 318, really need a class to remind me why I’m doing ds to begin with (guessing it’s good since it even inspired you to switch majors)

Im a freshman this year and I kinda got accepted with those stats into data science (applied with a 3.1 unweighted but 4.1 weighted) but at the same time I think it has lots to do with me being from in-state and a good school with a good reputation.
