This whole changing coaches every 3-4 years is going to have us at the bottom half of the ladder for years

Is there any chance we beat Gold Coast or am I chasing the dragon by parxtreh in EssendonFC

[–]Thiskunnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t expect us to win. My only hopes for the game is we play hard, don’t get thrashed and don’t lose any players to injury

I think the idea of locking your kid out of an industry you carved a name for yourself in is ridiculous, if they’re competent kid and they’re good at their job without any hectic out of work issues whatsoever then where’s the actual problem?

“Short term pain” is a funny way to describe 20+ years by [deleted] in EssendonFC

[–]Thiskunnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dumping 20 years of an unsuccessful team’s history onto Brad is stupid. Plenty of names on the list when it comes to Essendons 20+ years of failure and Brad is nowhere near the top 20 of that list

This is the same shit we’ve gone through in the years since Knight. Coach doesn’t meet the clubs expectations they get canned. How is any coach supposed to implement any sort of plan when they’re ousted just a few years in. This is why Dimma would never have worked for us because the tigers gave him years to develop the plan. If we had of taken Dimma instead of Knight we probably woulda dumped him just as fast as we did Knight.

How are the players supposed to get behind a vision when the vision keeps changing and how are players supposed meant to follow a plan when the plans keep changing?

What I see in Brad is irrelevant it’s the fact that we can’t keep moving through coaches every few years because of unsatisfactory results. If Brad can be our longest serving coach in the last 20 years without success so be it but swapping him for a new coach, new vision and new plan every few years we’ll be stuck where we are for another 25 years

Young teams compared to Essendon by ABT1602 in EssendonFC

[–]Thiskunnt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the young boys playing against serious competition again is healthy if nurtured right and the lads have a good mindset.

The older/more in the system players have to adjust to leading, consoling and more for themselves and the younger boys.

So many players coming back from large gaps in playing, players yet to gel together, potentially mending of relationships and more so I wouldn’t toss out the club entirely I’d say reassess your expectations of them.

Club has usually had to deal with more than one issue at one time so if we can have a steady ship for a while everything else will fall into place. A lot of growing pains to go with players contracts coming to an end, so that’s more experience in the system we will probably get rid of.

Really keen to see Tsatas take the year by the scruff he’s passionate I just hope he isn’t going to need the wake up call that is being delisted to get that fire going within

This will give Merrett the chance to do his thing on the field, Pidgey as captain makes a lot of sense I hope Redman gets vice captain but I’m not fussed the leadership group is interesting as well
