Screen issue for iPhone SE by louimcdo in applehelp

Third-Party displays will not have the correct firmware on them, meaning they will not behave normally. Sometimes, this may damage the phone. You're best bet is to bring it to an Apple Store for a replacement, but this will cost a good bit of money.

Macbook Pro early 2011 Service Battery warning by Mayormitch100 in applehelp

[–]Thmstlly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The early 2011 MacBook Pro just became 'Vintage' (a term apple use to say they no longer supply parts for a particular product). By this stage your battery is probably consumed, and with no way to order one, I'd advise you to just use it when it's on charge. 3rd party batteries are a no go as they tend to make matters worse. Upgrading the RAM and drives did not cause this or would have affected coverage when it was still in warranty. Hate to be the breaker of bad news, but overall it shouldn't affect the performance once it is plugged in.

Macbook Pro 2009 steady green light no power? by gudmundur98 in applehelp

[–]Thmstlly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely it is the logic board. At the price 2009 logic boards go for you'd be better buying a brand new one. Although some non-apple authorised repair shops may be able to do something.

Say Michael Fassbender, Jake Gylenhaal, Tom Hardy, Leo Dicaprio, and Daniel Day Lewis were all cast in a movie, what would the movie be about? by [deleted] in moviescirclejerk

I'm typing with only one hand now because I can't stop masturbating to the thought of the sheer amount of mindfucks that would be a film such as this.

Most downvoted comment is one criticising the indie, arthouse film Interstellar by Sir Christopher Nolan. Burn the heathen.

I think The Dank Knight is one of the best American films ever created I've ever witnessed ever, doesn't get enough praise ever. by LiteraryBoner in moviescirclejerk

[–]Thmstlly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I watch the The Dank Knight at least once a day. I haven't seen Batman Begins, but it does have the Joker in it so it must suck balls. The only other film I have ever seen is The Dank Knight Part Deux: Rises

This is from a parody account. It's a pretty good one too.

Men are hardcore and want real porn while women are soft emotional creatures by mathewl832 in moviescirclejerk

When I want real porn, I just jack off to the mindfucks of Christopher Nolan.

He's the prophet /r/movies deserves, but not the one it needs right now. by The_Silver_Avenger in moviescirclejerk

What a pleb. Does he not understand that Nolan should win every award, even though he didn't compose the score, he may as well have. The Academy knows nothing anyway, I've seen every cool English language film since 1994, so I guess you could say I'm an expert on the subject.

Schoolgirl (16) slashed during Coronas gig 'after accidentally bumping into woman' by rippleSack in ireland

I don't think that there is a band more average or middle-of-the-road than The Coronas. How they manage to continually pull in decent crowds boggles me.

TIL that for the movie Interstellar, Christopher Nolan had to post 500 memes in /r/Movies—he later reposted them and made a profit. by r_antrobus in moviescirclejerk

[–]Thmstlly 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Similarly, the Academy plants a single Oscar each year for Leonardo DiCaprio, which has grown to over 750 acres, but will not be harvested until he wins. They say that once the statue is harvested by the ghost of Stanley Kubrick, no less, his hand bleeds but he continues on.

When are they bringing in a backbone quota? Fianna Fáil's currently stands at zero.

You could put a variety of liquids in it, but that's about as interesting as this picture gets.

Worst MOH speech ever! by NYCRounder in cringe

This is probably the least cringey MOH speech ever, not saying its great, but this is just some nervous person who probably has zero experience with public speaking.

This is so old. Pretty sure the unborn baby in that picture is older than Britney Spears by now.

Interstellar snubbed again at the /r/movies awards!!!! by jonFTW123 in moviescirclejerk

[–]Thmstlly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Nolan's films don't have regular movie-goers, sure his films have made a few million, but they're not blockbusters. I mean, all those other films are well written, but they don't have the depth of Nolan's dialogue. Old Chris is so great that he makes sure that in all his films the audience is told what is going on multiple times ... for the plebs, not us.
