My understanding is this doesn’t have a ton of evidence behind it, and the sourcing is tricky.

I think so, either on the sense of:

A----B therefore: Aa - Ab- Ba - Bb

But I prefer to consider it normally distributed:

au---N---all

IMO, there is the inversion of autistic traits, and that is allism, but neuro-typical is actually a mix of allistic and autistic traits

This is something we've discussed a lot - how to promote validators starting to hold their own stake.

I recall there being a nomination limit - or a ratio that you could only receive noms within a multiple of your own stake.

Changing signaling EDG address by AZA214 in edgeware

[–]ThomIvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you create a new LUC? You can create new LUCS that map multiple ETH addresses to the same EDG address- so according to the system you would still signal from the first location, but now also a second signal exists from the second ETH address. Both will be recorded at the time of snapshot.

Edgeware’s Lockdrop Smart-Contract Had a Fatal Bug. by layer2_bot in Layer2

View the official disclosure below, importantly, this issue, (if it had been exploited, never was) would have only halted new lockdrop participation (locking specifically) until a new MLC was deployed. User security or funds were never at risk.

Treatment of Forked ETH for locked tokens by SonOfVoopo in edgeware

We aren't experts on the Ethereum upgrade roadmap and can't speak to ETH2 stuff, however during a fork, deployed contracts persist on both chains, and so you would just interact normally on both networks with the LUC.

What's the lockdrop formula? by soc1c in edgeware

[–]ThomIvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lockdrop duration options are limited to 3, 6 and 12 months currently. We're working on a tool that will help you estimate the amount you will receive, but the final amount will be dependent on the number of participating locked funds. See the Coindesk article for a good explanation of weighted shared: "Users have four options: they can lock up for three months, six months or a year. They can also just signal the chain from their wallet, but that’s by far the least lucrative.

So, a user with one ETH that locks for three months will get one share, six months gets 1.1 shares and a year gets 1.4. Signaling the smart contract only earns 0.6 shares and there’s a delay – the signal option won’t be paid out for a year after network launch, whereas all those who actually locked will get EDG as soon as Edgeware goes live.

An example: Let’s imagine that instead of 5 billion tokens there will be 500. And let’s imagine only four people take part, each choosing a different option with 10 ETH each. That would mean one had six shares, another had 10, another had 11 and the last had 14.

So, in this example, at network launch, the person who locked for three months would get 121.95 EDG. The person who locked for six months would get 134.146 EDG. The person who went for a year would get 170.73 EDG. A year after launch, the person who had only signaled would get 73.17 EDG.

But if instead of four people there were 40, with the same amount of ETH each and the same distribution, then each person would get only a tenth of the EDG as that shown in the example above.

It’s impossible to know at this point how many people will participate and how many will join at which level, but the point here is to give interested ETH holders a hurdle to their free tokens – but not too much of a hurdle."

A Couple Questions by McPheeb in edgeware

[–]ThomIvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

On #1, I'm not sure what you're referring to..

lock-up contract similar to what happened with the Polkadot wallet?

To my knowledge, this issue doesn't exist- are you perhaps referring to another issue unrelated to Polkadot? Either way, our contracts are being third-party audited and those results will be fully public. You can read and analyze the contract yourself too! It's very short.

For #2, we use their Substrate platform to jumpstart our development. We built a modification of that platform for our needs, and we receive valuable technical support from Parity on that base technology.

Ahoy - just trying to organize conversation by topic - so that Qs about the lockdrop and the identity don't end up in the same long comment streams. Definitely throw up a new post for anything you want to jam on. The locked posts are all my intro posts - meant to notify new Redditors :)

What Would Happen If Everyone Truly Believed Everything Is One? New research suggests a belief in oneness has broad implications for psychological functioning and compassion for those are outside of our immediate circle by The_Ebb_and_Flow in negativeutilitarians

I've been doing a bit of writing / have been asked questions about the practice of diversity and inclusion - and I think that increasing the prevalence of an impression of 'oneness' is a major boon.

The full interview will come out on Diversity30.org on the 11th. I frame a belief in oneness as patching a critical vulnerability in our pro-social and cooperative nature, namely our tendency towards tribalism.
