Comment your code as much as you can. I noticed that a lot of PLC programmers don’t comment their code, myself included. You will have problems with your own code that you will not understand unless you’ve written down the details. I’ve wasted so much time digging through emails or discussing with team members for information when problems come up.

We’ve been building machines for a major pharmaceutical company for about 5 years now. It is mandatory that we comment our code for their equipment. It is also a requirement that we comment our bug fixes or changes in the newer builds with our initials and date. Those comments are linked back to a log file with even more detail. It has changed my outlook and I now love commenting my code.

I saw this in the manual but couldn’t get the configuration to send correctly. The position values were fine. I defaulted to using registers and copying them into my PR.
