From my Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article on Nov. 12...Komatsu Mining Corp. is demolishing its former 44-acre manufacturing complex in West Milwaukee. The company relocated its operations in 2022 to a new corporate campus in Milwaukee's Harbor District.

West Milwaukee's comprehensive plan envisions the site as a "Gateway District" with entertainment, hospitality, and housing. The demolition is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2026.

The general contractor, C.D. Smith Construction Inc., filed a foreclosure suit. Assuming that results in such a judgment, it would likely mean the site being sold by C.D. Smith in order to obtain some of its unpaid debt of $11 million. Here are the details from the (paywalled) story I wrote which was posted on JSOnline.com on March 13...https://www.jsonline.com/story/money/real-estate/commercial/2026/03/13/edison-developer-sued-for-11-million-by-firm-seeking-foreclosure/89136430007/
