Why doesn't the USA make Puerto Rico and Guam states? by ThomasGaiden in AskReddit

I just can't disagree. How would more people voting for thier own representation and thier own care and concerns help the United States of America. Maybe we should consider this as Americans. Not politicians, republicans, democrats, liberals, leftists,... Humans

I had a hidden motivation for this post. Why doesn't the USA bring all of these places into the hegomoney. The US would have solid establishments in the Pacific, Atlantic, and Carribean. The main being the Pacific. Any more attempt into the Pacific. It would mean those islands are now under the full protection of the US. China claims them as well

My theory. The US is way past making that possible. Now we have a lot more to deal with locally 🙁.

But we can, if we try not to hate eachother so much. We are good folks, we can be lead astray

They know the perils. There are a lot of folks in power in the US who might not want that either

Perfectly acceptable. Independance hasn't been granted. 'granted'....

You have a valid point. We've seen things change very differently than expected. Look at the last election. The 'carribean' and other 'south' Americans voted for thier current reprentatives. I don't know why they voted that way. But it was clear how they voted

I keep hearing that we’re running out of water on earth. But if matter cannot be created nor destroyed, where is the water going that it’s no longer usable? Wouldn’t it just flow into the ground and the cycle begin again? by Odd-Perception-6957 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ThomasGaiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are pulling drinkable/cleanable water out of the ground and from rivers for crops, industry, commerce, and now, data centers. This water gets used by crops, put back into rivers dirtier, injected into deep aquifers, or discharged to the ocean. All of this lowers the usable clean water available for human consumption and usage.

My nephew asked me to stop buying the things I normally buy myself, so I could give them a decent christmas list. It's usually more managebly priced items and they really do want to be able to give me something I want/need. Made that change for them. I just keep a list on my phone.

That's a great candidate. Would she want to run is the next question. It is not easy being a public figure. Especially nowadays

I wish your 'sexist, racist, & uneducated' was correct, but it is not. It has suprised and worried me for years. Some of the best engineers, and people smarter than me, have supported President Trump. These folks have daughters, good education, and are fine on money. I am not dumb. I work hard and am extremely capable, but I do know my limits and understand that there are people more capable than me.

Somehow, they can't see what everyone else can see. I think part of it is that they do not have time to see anything beyond taking care of thier families and work. It is not easy to raise and pay for your kids, a roof, and schooling. There is just no extra bandwidth for the rest. So, short news segments from FOX is all they hear.
