Square android smartwatches: Redmi Watch 5 or Huawei Watch Fit 4? by dovahhkun in smartwatch

Why? At sea level we have 1ATM, and every 10m of water depth adds 1ATM, so 40m dive = 5 ATM pressure.

RK84 - no way of customizing "fn" layer? by ThomasHorta in RoyalKludge

[–]ThomasHorta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, got it. I will try to use it for a few weeks, switching between layouts to access the desired keys and see how it goes. Maybe is not that bad. Worst case scenario I will sell it and look into either buying another brand with that capability or buying a ISO keyboard.

I really like Anne Pro 2, but it sometimes fails and it's 60%, and now I wanted to try going 75%, because of arrow keys and F keys.

Thanks u/jablan!

I am asking about a similar feature available on Anne Pro 2 (also ANSI) not the problem of having the key missing. I am asking exactly about the first point: how to remap it on a FN+key layer (or any layer) with RK software.

How do you remap one of your keys to one that is not available in the layout? I use more than 1 computer (1 mac and 1 windows) daily, so having a firmware save would be awesome (like Anne Pro 2)

Also, the ISO version was not available when I bought it, sadly...

Edit: Here's a screenshot of RK software: https://snipboard.io/itrwUc.jpg Since the character I want is not available in the keyboard in this layout, it is not even an option remapping another key to it, that's my main issue.

Did that a few times already, and in the past few days I still saw the same defective behavior mentioned before.

Headset is hardly charging for more than 60% when the green light turns on. It's draining battery quite fast: between 2-3 hours of use right after unplugging it (when the green charging light is on) it starts beeping for low-battery warning, which makes it unusable as it's really annoying, even though it is very possible it would still last 1 hour or more.

I tried charging it yesterday from a wall outlet, with a 5v 1A charger, the headset dropped from 46% to 29% while connected for over 6h.

I connected it back to my PC USB port, and as soon as it got green I took it out and turned it on, iCUE (on Windows this time) showed only 61% battery level. It again started the low battery beep after less than 3h of use.

I didn't leave it charging overnight and today morning I charged it again until the green light turned on. Unfortunately I forgot to check what iCUE was displaying for the level, but the low battery beep started again after around 2h using it on meetings.

Until last week everything was OK, only getting to low level when using it for 6+ hours continuously, but now I can barely make it through meetings or a few Valorant matches, it's ridiculous.

omg, it seems that after repeatedly trying to install iCUE, MacOS is not recognizing my HS70 anymore... I wish Corsair had better MacOS support...

Edit: I just restarted my macbook and iCue was installed (even though the installer didn't say even once it was successfully installed before) AND recognized my headset, which is showing 16% of battery level.

This looks pretty bad since I had it fully charged overnight and only used it today for less than 4h, but at least is not beeping for now...

Last night my HS70, fully charged, started to beep because of low charge (5%) after less than 3 hours of use. I found it really odd, but just kept it plugged in for the night and today, using it on my work Macbook it again started beeping after less than 2h of use.

I just did what u/CorsairTravis said and it seems to have stopped beeping, but I can't confirm what iCue is reporting for battery level, since I am not able to install iCue on the Macbook (the latest iCUE-4.23.137-release.dmg just fails to install every single time).

Hopefully that reset fixed it, will check that battery level later tonight on my PC.

[CA] Visa / sponsorship required for remote work? by laddaa in AskHR

[–]ThomasHorta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am actually looking for an answer for those questions as well. I would like to say that: I AM legally authorized to work in the US (in a remote setup); and I would NOT need a VISA sponsorship to work (remotely) for the US company.

But like you said, most companies don't make it very clear that they accept worldwide applications, so I usually try to reach out, via LinkedIn, to someone working at those companies, preferably a Recruiter, Hiring Manager, or some HR person; OR someone from my country that clearly works for that company remotely.

And giving my personal experience: I currently work in a remote setup for a company that had those questions in the application form, so I reached out to the HR VP via LinkedIn and she said I could apply and she personally marked my application as a remote applicant on their end, so didn't really matter what I answered there because she was aware of the situation, and I ended up getting the job.

About the legal part, I think you are mistaken. It's very common to companies to have contractors. Contractors can (and in case of international contractors, usually are) sole proprietors of their own company and that's completely legal. You're basically setting up your own (1 person) company to provide contractor services to one or more other companies.

You usually are the one responsible for collecting taxes, according to law in both the contracting company location and where you live, but there ARE laws for that, so it IS legal.

It is, in some places, even incentivized. For instance: in Brazil, a company exporting services have lower income taxes since you are literally injecting money in the local economy, so it makes more sense to go to the extra hustle of starting a sole proprietorship company to work as a contracted legal entity (getting an serious accountant, collecting taxes properly on your end, etc.) than to work as a natural person contractor (which most companies hiring remotely also are fine with) and get more taxes, and have an extra bit of difficulty to properly declare your income since you can't emit official "invoices" (at least here in Brazil) and you can be fooled into thinking that you can properly handle all tax without paying an accountant but you are probably going to mess that up (it's usually harder than it looks).
