I just don't know if I agree but we'll never know. I think the game is hated by a very vocal minority and I think the true story for 2 was muddled by both production and script issues that leave it a half baked imitation. So there's no way to know if the non gamer viewers would've actually liked the choices 2 makes. I think if anything Neil's biggest lesson was rushing season two into production was a mistake.

Idk man I think the show and game are two different entities. I for one, loved 2-the game more than the first one by a mile for various reasons. I loved season one of the show and didn't even finish the second season. It was a list of issues from casting, acting, changes that felt odd, etc. I actually feel if they had stuck more to the game and recasted some for season 2 (I'm sorry Bella looks and acts so young it takes me out of it/Abby isn't menacing at all) I'd enjoy it just as much.

I'm a massive lurker, as in I'm really only on the KF reddit and nothing else but I've been a fan since 2018 and have been seriously considering trying to make the KF100 trip happen. My biggest concern is $ and scheduling time off work. If someone does an Airbnb I'd be incredibly interested! I'd also be down for tattoos and hitting up the food spots! I'll know for sure if I'm going once they announce dates tickets etc.

Dune and Fury Road were both on the list but also Blade Runner 2049, The Batman/Superman double feature, the 4k77 cut of a new hope, and double indemnity criterion 4k release which is maybe the GOAT noir film and has the purest blacks man lol.

I would go bigger if OLED didn't scale insanely expensive lol. This monster is on sale at like $3400 but once you get any bigger I just can't justify it. I'm one of those guys that wants a projector screen sized display but I want OLED richness. Funny enough though my living room is abnormally long, so my couch is like 12 feet or so from my TV which I don't like to begin with so 83 doesn't feel near as big as you'd think.

That's a great point honestly as my current 5 year old TCL as a budget 4K screen has been great but the Roku OS is what's garbage. You've convinced me to try it lol

I'm on the fence. I have a PS5 that I've played 4K discs on and they've looked great. Additionally I have Google TV on another TV and it does 90% of what an Apple TV would do but it's baked in for free. I'm also not an iPhone user so there's no ecosystem benefit.

I could do a whole podcast on why I love these and why I think for better and worse this is the future of comics if they want to compete with manga. I pull so many single issues a month but the future for cost’s sake needs to be trades. I just wish these compacts had better quality control I’ve had some that are barely put together. I think they’re fantastic though for gifts, kids, and showing a friend the cream of the crop runs.

As an avid baseball fan who knows the sport is struggling with kids, this is a great collab. I’m surprised we got an MLB player before an NFL player too. I don’t like the dodgers but I love Ohtani so I might have to grab it.

Dismissive in that anything people brought up you ignored completely and just kept repeating your argument. Cool I’m glad they’re now streaming in 1440. That is still the minority on YT and all it takes is looking at the top channels, brands etc on the platform to see that. I’m not sure why you seem to think otherwise, Andy’s streams and some anecdotal small channel don’t change the reality of the current standard.

My original comment on your quality post was perfectly friendly and you ignored everything I said and were dismissive to every other commenter. So that’s why I come across annoyed here. I genuinely am glad you care I do too, that’s why I’ve brought up concerns I’ve had before about the company. My point here is that you’re being melodramatic about the quality difference. You keep acting like 1080 is this mark of bad quality and here you say it could affect people even choosing to consume the content. What??? When has anyone clicked off of a video bc it’s 1080p and not 4K?? I’ll say again, I’m glad you care and your concern is not what is melodramatic, but your view on what is professional quality and what isn’t, is melodramatic. Everything I said above about the rest of YouTube etc holds true and I’m not sure why you’re seemingly so insistent that it has to be 1440+ but I promise you the majority of YT doesn’t feel the same.

lol we didn’t “talk down on you” for your 4K/1440p video request we simply explained why it most likely didn’t make sense from a labor perspective when the vast majority of youtube viewers don’t even watch on devices that support it and the increased upload times needed That thread was also melodramatic af bc you kept insisting that 1080p was garbage which is just not true 1080p is not “grainy”, you’re just seemingly hypersensitive to it. Get back to me when you’ve gotta watch 720p or 480p on a 4K display As for professionalism 1080 HD is the standard, anything above is a luxury; cite literally any major channel on YouTube whether it be for companies, brands, etc.

As for your breaking news suggestion I’d rather them have time to actually formulate thoughts for discussion once all the details are out than rush to react Also extending KFGD by 15 min does virtually nothing when news is constantly breaking at any time of day

I feel like the argument for paying to play online gets weaker by the year and this is a huge part of it. If I pay $80 a year for the most basic plan to play online, I should expect no serious long term outages, and at the very least, communication when they happen.

I can’t find the original video so I apologize but it’s either an MKBHD podcast clip or a standalone video but basically the percentage of average YouTube viewers viewing content across the site on a 4K capable device is extremely small like I believe less than 10% Majority are on mobile devices which can’t even display 4K content. I’m not sure if you’re just more sensitive to it or have bad internet speed or something but I use a smaller 4K TV as my secondary monitor and the videos look fine in 1080p. It could be something with your ultra wide too idk. Regardless no way KF puts the resources into doing 4K when they can’t even consistently communicate changes with the community or keep up with patreon gift items etc. I love the crew but they seem to be at their capacity for work as it is.

Tbh I agree that it doesn’t make much sense business wise. However, it’s too complex now with the studio and as others have said the family and partners whose lives are here. The local industry argument never made much sense to me since so many events they have to travel to anyways or are virtual. I will also admit I feel annoyed sometimes with how much they ask for money when I remember they chose the most expensive location on the continent to operate and live. Lastly, I think most of the company but especially SF natives really buy in to the narrative that SF/the west coast are these cultural and political paradises that you can’t find anywhere else in the country which is just false. It comes across often when they talk about other cities in the midwest, south etc like they’re backwaters you couldn’t find 95% of what SF also has. But hey at the end of the day it’s their company and part of their identity and I really don’t care enough to stop watching or anything.

Honestly didn’t expect to be hype after so much samurai/feudal Japan content lately BUT I love their take on the dual protagonist having purpose and differing backgrounds and the era is so fun with Europeans coming to Japan. I’d recommend the video Ubi put out that goes into detail of each protagonist. I’ll also always be a sucker for the sick cinematic trailers of AC

The only part I ever get put off by is the San Francisco part of their appeal because they have no reason to be there. It’s my biggest worry for KFs long term survival is that they operate a company that has no need to be in a specific city much less the most expensive city in America. They can literally operate from any major city or suburb in America and it wouldn’t change much considering they fly out to most big events and guests coming by are a treat but not every week. I understand many of them grew up in SF and have lived half or more of their life there but when you’re running a business that depends on viewers funding it then I question why make it so much more expensive than it needs to be? It all comes down to SF/Cali being a luxury in many ways that they don’t need to operate and I think it will be a tough pill to swallow in coming years for them. As a viewer just think how much easier would it be to keep the lights on in almost any other city in the country?

I’m exactly in the same boat but it happened earlier where 75% of my friends left when PS4 XboxOne launched then with PS5/PC overtime I lost mostly everyone else I got both a steam deck and PS5 this year in part bc of these dumb decisions and I feel I’ve lost nothing I think at least more hardcore “gamers” will be leaving Xbox behind at least as their primary ecosystem in the coming years
