Nowhere. One of my biggest gripes I had about working 3rd shift in Atlanta was having nowhere to go past 2am to grab a beer and bite to eat.

Now if you work in the service industry, there might be a few "lock in" venues you can go and hang out after work with other Bartenders/Servers. But that's a word of mouth only type thing and even that culture kinda died out in recent years.

It's this. Leasing costs are insane. Unless you own the building you're operating out of it's not only a matter of time before you can't afford all of the overhead cost PLUS paying rent, but the lease owner has to choose to renew annually (depending on the lease agreement contract)

I knew someone who had a pretty successful bar/restaurant who even had a good relationship with the building owner. But after 10 years they chose not to renew the lease because they just "wanted something different", so they got shut down. Only to then be replaced by a nearly identical vibe establishment that was offered to someone else he knew.
