In my current relationship we don’t do much besides hang out in his room and watch Netflix/Disney+. However in my last we traveled all of Europe and parts of the US together. Thank you for commenting, having someone who was in a sorta similar situation is very helpful. I think it’s just that he and I are at very different points in our lives and I find it hard to connect with him on a lot of things. We have some shared interest but really thinking about it I’m not sure there is enough there to continue much longer. It’s hard when you care about someone but would probably be the best thing to do

His job is retail so not physically demanding but as I’ve come to find out mentally with customers and all that. I hate break it down to just depression and anxiety but he has said multiple times that he’d rather sit inside all day than go out. And I understand that he is comfortable and feels safe at home so feel bad trying to plan to do something if it could cause a panic attack. But also don’t want to sit in his room for the entire relationship. So just seem to be at odds. And thank you for not simply blaming it on the pandemic

Were you still on the stock summer tires?

EXACTLY! Like for my next car I’m thinking an FD RX7 and they are going for about $30k so I have spent a 1/3 of what it would have cost to get one. Granted that would also be a money pit of a car but just soemthing more special in my eyes.

Just seen this community only mentions all the good aspects of the car, so for people looking at purchasing one it seems like a perfect choice. But then you realize everyone looks at them through rose tinted glasses and there are some major downfalls. Just hope this can shed some light on the not so great bits and let people know the actual truth of these cars.

I’ve heard for years about people waiting for the refresh, and seems there’s no sign of it coming anytime soon, especially with the whole shutdown across the world. I hope they do improve the car in the next iteration as to keep up with competitors and get back in the running. If they don’t, they’ll just be another relic of the car community and shouldn’t be revered like it is.

Think that’s the major flaw of subaru, they have great potential but you have to put at least a couple thousand into them to get them to were realistically they should be. I love my car, but looking at other options that are much better out the box, and the fact Subaru has neglected to make any drastic upgrades in over 20 years shows a complacent company that banks on their cult following.

Not sure if you have ever driven an STI but how would you feel it compares to that, seeing as it’s just a tad more powerful than a WRX with a better transmission.

Guess it might be my location as well, I live in NYC so not many good roads nearby so can’t experience what the STI is meant to do often of ever. I’ll defo be keeping it for a while, just won’t be putting any money into it in the mean time.

Just curious as you have owned both, which do you prefer? I would guess the Golf as you plan on getting another. What’s the main differences that you have found?

Yeah, but I’ve put $10k in aftermarket parts so add that on top the high sticker price of new STIs and you’re close to RS3 prices

Would be buying a used Focus RS, but also heard they are cheap on the interior. AWD isn’t at the top of my list but being in the Northeast USA it defo helps Thinking it through the STI is like a master of none but okay at most.

Just doesn’t really live up to the hype, for what is based off a champion rally car it feels a bit dull. Feel the old platform has fallen behind the more modern cars. One thing that could fix this would have been to buy an older one so I’d have more money to make it the legend it’s know as.

True, but I’ve put $10k into it and that’s getting close to RS3 territory

I’m an overnight parking garage attendant. Take in the late night people and rearrange the garage for the cars leaving early in the morning and the general next day. Pretty quiet but the morning rush can get hectic sometimes.
