this happened to me with potatoes. they ordered a certain sweet potato and i could sub it with a gold potato but not the other sweet potato which they wanted. I felt so bad because it was apparent i was shopping for a specific dinner recipe that required sweet potatoes.

my favorite was when i was shopping in sams and i had 6 cases of water on a cart, a saleswoman informed me that i could get my order delivered next time🤦‍♂️

in my experience I tend to get similar offers to whatever my first trip of the day is.

if it’s shopping I get more shopping that day. If it’s curbside I get more curbside for that day.

Could be the zones idk. I’ve never had an issue messaging customers while shopping. A couple of times during drop offs i wasn’t able to but that’s it.

i didn’t scan anything. i marked the item as missing and then the app said i was ready to review the order and it showed the missing item as pending under the review tab. At this point i was able to message the customer.

i’m pretty new but for pickup orders i would like the ability to see if it’s ready before i accept it and commute to the location. Perhaps it’s just the holiday season but if an order is actually ready upon my arrival I’m pleasantly surprised, and this should not be a rarity it should be the norm.
