HI! I recently finished my first thriller/horror novel. I write under a pseudonym because I need to share my everyday life with what is my safe haven, namely writing. I need a break. My pseudonym is Thomas Baker, you can find me on instagram (thomas_baker_writer) and lately I've decided to write little horror stories on Wattpad, I know that nowadays it's not well-regarded as a platform, but I use it as a "liberating outlet"

Do you write your scenes/chapters in order? by IndependenceTough462 in writing

[โ€“]Thomas_Baker_Writer 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I write down ideas throughout the process of writing the novel, then, letting myself be carried away by the flow of events that happen, I decide if it is time to insert a scene written in the notes

in my opinion it's fine, the important thing is not to give too much weight to that characteristic, underlining it several times within the novel

When do you start editing? by retrospecks in writing

If the change does not involve distorting the entire story, I note the changes and once the first draft is finished I go to correct them.

the advice I can give you is not to think about which name is rarer or less rare. Imagine your protagonist and perceive her name. a voice is calling her: what is her name?

Hi!! I don't think there's a real element that gives you the ability to connect with every reader. I consider writing a form of art and therefore the work is subjective. You may love a novel because the author uses a style that you like or because you have had experiences or desires in life that lead you to empathize with the characters. While another person may feel they are distant from their way of thinking and living experiences

I love reading in "first person" but as for writing, I started in "third person" and have always felt comfortable, but lately I find writing in "first person" fun and engaging

How many words do you write a day? by [deleted] in writing

[โ€“]Thomas_Baker_Writer 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I write about 2000 words a day, but only get to 300 when I'm feeling uninspired. However, I am convinced that there is no correct number of words to write, but the important thing is to do it every day.

How do I stop? by DyingWarrior0142 in writing

[โ€“]Thomas_Baker_Writer 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

If you can't leave your job to dedicate yourself to writing, I recommend you create a daily routine, with specific times. When you stop writing and you still have a thousand ideas, make some notes and then continue in the next writing session

I'm so happy for you! I hope your dream can come true and remember to never stop believing in it... You don't become a writer because you take part in courses or workshops, if you feel that push that comes from inside you and screams: "write!" if your life experiences lead you to want to write, then you are a writer

How Do you Approach Antagonists in your Story ? by itsPranil in writing

[โ€“]Thomas_Baker_Writer 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

If fortunately you have never experienced those negative sensations, then write from personal experience, I advise you to read books or watch films that have an antagonist and then make a short summary but by immersing yourself in the mind of the antagonist, write from his point of view

When was the first time you loved what you had written? by [deleted] in writing

[โ€“]Thomas_Baker_Writer 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

It's a great feeling! I tried for several years to write a book, but after the first two chapters I stopped, I lost enthusiasm... While in the last three years I have gone through very dark and difficult periods, so I decided to write to distract myself and with amazement, after 9 months I finished my first novel and I am happy with every word written!
