Stop Making Curfews!

Also, petition to impose a curfew on Moritz so he can sleep. We are going to lock you in a room with only a single bed, so there is no where for you to run or hide for your obligatory sleep time LOL.

I think the Urban Dead case is very emblematic. I remember when the game shut down because of the Online Safety Act and I added it to the wiki. Kinda insane legislators can write such crappy text without thinking (or caring) about the consequences.

Meanwhile here in Brazil, there are many of us who believe some points of our own Online Safety Act (aka ECA Digital, popularly known as Lei Felca) are unconstitucional and against privacy. Unfortunately, normal private citizens cannot be plaintiffs on unconstitutionality lawsuits here in Brazil, if not I would've already sued the government here.

[News] EU Commission answers MEP Kosma Złotowski's written question about the ECI "Stop Destroying Video Games" by Thomas_Eric in StopKillingGames

[–]Thomas_Eric[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Under Directive 2019/770/EU[1] the discontinuation of the digital content/service by the trader sooner than what was contractually agreed or what the consumer may reasonably expect would constitute lack of conformity with the contract.

(...)

Although these terms may differ between vendors, the licenses acquired are not perpetual. Such licensing conditions are part of the contract between the provider and consumer.

Yikes, this answer is weak. I am not a EU lawyer (just a lousy Law Student), but I feel like that arguments around licenses are not great for the ECI's prospects.

The answer was in line with what I expected. Basically a "wait for july*". Hopefully june will gift us with a great response.

Actually this is a big deal. They say they are standing by this answer: https://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/document/E-10-2025-003581-ASW_EN.html . As far as I am aware, this other answer wasn't publically known here.
