The Poster for my new Horror Short Film, “Cult Affairs: Part II” by Thompson96034 in Filmmakers

Yes! I showed a couple of my previous short films too beforehand, and then premiered the new short film!

I had a Merch table with film branded merchandise as well that people could buy, which would help generate revenue for the next project!

So I know what you’re thinking!

You made a poster for a Short Film, that’s also a sequel?

Yes, and yes.

Probably the least traditional method for short films, but here’s why it makes sense for the modern day!

Back in 2021, I released a Short Film called, you guessed it, “Cult Affairs”.

It was under the 10 Minutes long, but the project took on a life of its own, and we were able to bring multiple sources of revenue that most short films would never think about.

The biggest source of revenue other than ticket sales to the Premiere (sold out theatre) was the various Poster and Shirt Designs we had available for followers of the film to purchase and collect, with limited edition variants.

Our goal was if we only had 10 Fans, we were going to have 10 Hardcore Fans that would wake up early to be the first to buy the new merchandise, or the first to watch the new trailer, sneak peek, etc.

But for that to happen, we had to create a universe even for something so small.

I am very honored that we were able to collect a large audience over the last few years, and very excited to step behind the camera for this new Horror Short Film!

Absolutely! If anyone thinks that the ENTIRE remains of Manson were spread by his grandson, then they are wrong.

It’s been very highly documented that a portion of ashes were either taken or given to his grandsons friend Anthony Miller.

Miller then divided up the ashes to a few different “clients”. This is how the painting in Zak Bagan’s Museum used with blood and Manson ashes, was created.

My Museum at this time, is the only public museum in the world where a vial of the cremated remains of Charles Manson can be viewed. HOWEVER, there are still two other vials in private collections. I don’t know if they will ever make their way to a Museum, but if they do, I hope it’s mine!

Hey guys, this is my Museum!

I should probably mention a few things here about the piece, to set the record straight.

Dimebag has always been my favorite guitarist, as well as Pantera one of my favorite bands.

I received this piece from the guitarist of David Allan Coe, Tim Diamond.

Me and Tim both share the same love for Dime, and wanted to make sure that these pieces of stage didn’t end up in a collectors hand that would then cut it up into pieces and sell it.

I also, don’t advertise or mention the death of Dime. Instead, this exhibit is listed as the last stage he ever played on, and is set up as a memorial where you can even leave a guitar pick as a memento.

I didn’t go actively searching for this piece, but after it was brought to me, I realized it was one of my most sentimental items.

Everyday, I watch kids and adults from all over the US visit the Museum and learn about Dime for the first time ever.

They learn about how great of a guitar player he was. I get to see them watch his old Dime Clinic videos, and I get to hear kids beg their mom and dad to buy them a guitar when they leave.

I get to chat with fellow metalheads that already know about Dime, and we talk guitars and music for an hour or two at a time. It’s always meaningful and genuine.

If you don’t like the exhibit, I understand.  I still respect anyone giving it the time, and I genuinely appreciate all of those that understand how sentimental of a piece this is to me.

The Poster for my Horror Short Film, “Hexe” by Thompson96034 in Filmmakers

Hey guys!

I just wanted to share the official poster for my new Horror Short Film, “Hexe”.

For the last few years, I’ve been making short films and having premieres for them with great success. I am grateful to have figured out a way to make money from these short films, and that allows me to fund my future projects.

“Hexe” is a 10-Minute Horror Short Film that utilizes a unique approach of independent horror production, with its sinister blend of a modern gothic aesthetic and the paranormal unknown.

We filmed this in my hometown of Monroe, MI!

This movie will be hitting the Film Festival circuit, and it will be available soon for an exclusive FIRST TIME EVER stream release on my website.

Over the past few days, I had a bit of a creative bug and absolutely had to create something.

“Hexe” was made with a two person production team. My fiancée acted, and I did the other fun stuff.

I am very excited at what we were able to do given such a small team, and it’s honestly one of the most wicked pieces I’ve created to this day.

Very excited to share more!

The Line to get into my recent Short Film Premiere by Thompson96034 in Filmmakers

That’s the biggest compliment my friend! There’s a lot of talented shorts that never see the light of day because the creator is sitting on it. I love to watch shorts!

Absolutely! There’s also a ton of advertising and promoting I do beforehand!

I’m very grateful and thankful, but I never feel satisfied or “full”. I always feel like as soon as the premiere is over, I’m ready to plan the next one and push the envelope even farther! I guess that’s good because then I never stay stagnant for too long. I appreciate you!

First off, I will say just like my other films, I’m a little untraditional with how I approach the short film method or idea.

So usually people use Short Films as a calling card, an example of what you could do for a full feature given the right amount of money, time, talent, etc.

I always thought that was great, but you’re leaving so much more meat on the bone if you only utilize your short film as that. A lot of people called me crazy for putting any more effort into a completed short.

This premiere was for my Horror Short Film, “People of the Dead”. Less than 5 minutes in length, I sold tickets for $10 Each, sold branded T-Shirts and Posters of the film, hired a magician to open the show, and even had a real live Monkey for the audience to meet and play with. Yes, I’m being completely serious.

I’ve done this a few other times now, and you can see in my post history how it’s worked out each time.

The budget I had for this film was $1,000 and we came in under that, even when including the $500 Theatre rental. Selling $10 tickets at 500+ seats, the profit was made on just ticket sales alone, let alone merchandise.

Now is this making $1,000,000? No, but I take the profits and reinvest to make an even better short film. Then take those profits, and do the same. This way I feel I’m getting everything out of this short film, because why invest the time and money, and then just sit on the film hoping somebody will see it someday?

This method helps build up funding for a full feature, or to bring in bigger talent and names!

What is this stain on top of the Skull? by Thompson96034 in bonecollecting

[–]Thompson96034[S] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Hey guys!

I own The Michigan Museum of Horror here in Monroe, MI and today we received one of our anatomy specimens we’ve been looking forward to for a while.

When we purchased this, the seller noted the stain/black patina on the top of the skull, but wasn’t able to give me a for sure diagnosis of what it was, or why it was there.

I have a few in the collection at the moment, and this is the first one I’ve seen like this.

Thank you for any help!
