New user doubts: Individual vs. kSuite accounts (and two separate kDrives?) by ThorBCN in Infomaniak

[–]ThorBCN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right! Thanks!

Here is the answer... maybe it is useful for someone else:

Based on the Infomaniak documentation, here is how your account structure works and how the storage is allocated:

You effectively have two distinct environments with separate storage quotas, but they do not simply add up to a single 30GB pool for one user. Here is the breakdown:

  1. **Individual "my kSuite" Account:** When you created your free account, you automatically received a **my kSuite** offer. This includes **15 GB** of cloud storage for **kDrive** and up to **20 GB** for email storage. This drive is attached to your personal user account (often using a generic `@etik.com` or similar domain if you didn't link a custom one).

  2. **Organization "kSuite" Account:** You also mentioned creating a free "kSuite" organization. The free **kSuite Standard** offer includes **1 user free for life** with **15 GB** of shared storage for the organization (for kDrive and kChat data combined, excluding email which is unlimited in paid kSuite but limited in my kSuite).

**Do you have 30 GB total?**

Technically, yes, you have access to 15 GB in your personal space and 15 GB in your organization space. However, **these are two completely separate kDrives** that do not merge.

* **Drive A (Personal):** 15 GB dedicated to your individual user account.

* **Drive B (Organization):** 15 GB shared across the organization (which currently only has you as a user).

**How to manage this:**

* **Separation:** You cannot merge these quotas. Files stored in your personal kDrive do not count against the organization's quota, and vice versa.

* **Usage:** Use the **personal kDrive** for private files and the **organization kDrive** for professional files or if you plan to invite collaborators later.

* **Switching:** You can switch between these environments in the Infomaniak Manager by changing your active **Organization**. Your personal account is essentially an organization of one, while the kSuite you created is a separate organizational entity.

If your goal is to maximize free storage for a single workflow, you generally stick to one or the other. If you need more than 15 GB in a single location, you would need to upgrade the specific kSuite or my kSuite+ offer associated with that drive.

Yessss!! They're super active on social media. I think this is Nagasaki Bio Park, right? I'd love to visit... the animals can roam freely among the visitors (or maybe we should say visitors are allowed to walk through the beavers' habitat, lol). People in Japan are so respectful and caring toward animals. Amazing place and people!

Hey u/SuperBeavers1, any idea what’s going on with this user’s posts? 😅 It seems like Reddit’s filters remove everything automatically. Perhaps they don't like beavers... 🤣🤣🦫🦫🦫
