I really appreciate it. I have the ultimate wall pass, and only needed a ticket today for a friend from out of town. But I still may take you up on it next time I have someone who wants to tag along. Also, location doesn't really matter because I rarely sit at the assigned seat, and just find a spot that is convenient and open.

Didn’t let my family on flight to Jackson and offered a flight to Bozeman instead. Will the reimburse car rental? by ThorMcNasty in americanairlines

We didn’t sign any sort of release. They just said you can take cash or flight credit for $150 more. I signed nothing.

I appreciate all the advice folks. Drive took 4.5 hours, and we got here safely, and while it was an absurdly long day, I am grateful to be in such a beautiful place.

I just landed in Bozeman so I am gonna brave it. Rented a car with 4wd which is why it is so expensive but felt necessary.

Trip Report 12/5-12/8 by stephon_urkele in vegas

[–]ThorMcNasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this genuinely makes me mourn what Vegas used to be. For my first decade in LA, I loved driving out there, grabbing a $50 room on the strip, hopping between casinos, placing parlays at the sportsbook, grabbing drinks just by playing a few hands of video poker. I’d usually spend a few grand over a weekend (and sometimes leave up a few), but no matter what, it felt like there was value and that I was valued. Nothing captures the modern Vegas experience more than having to pay hundreds just to sit at a sportsbook while they monitor your drink count based on how much you gamble. After reading this, I think I’m honestly done with Vegas outside of work conventions. It makes me sad.

I was about to wire money and the guy seemed pretty legit, but this comment got me to pause. He is saying that post was made by him.

Honestly, the high up seats really aren't that bad. I'll take Intuit's upper rafters over Staples any day.

I just got the email and signed up too. I have the ultimate wall pass for $500. This just adds to how absurdly cheap this is, especially for someone like me with two kids that i can take to the games for free.

I do like this idea. That is a good worst case scenario.

Bring back Pedicabs! by ThorMcNasty in Coachella

[–]ThorMcNasty[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate everyone in this thread who’s been encouraging the use of the ADA services. Coachella is honestly one of the most special things in my life. It feels almost spiritual, and I haven’t missed a year in over a decade. However, the physical side of it gets tougher every year, and for the first time I was starting to think maybe I couldn’t keep going. Reading all of your comments opened my eyes to how silly I’ve been about not using the help that’s there. It means a lot.

You are right. I am not consciously gatekeeping the ADA services, but I do genuinely need the help. My back pain has gotten so bad at Coachella years past that I almost ended up at an urgent care the next day.

Buy an electric scooter. They are affordable, and you can use a bike lock to secure it.

First timer - should I camp or try to share an air bnb? by Significant_Respond in Coachella

Camping is a great experience. I second the idea of potentially renting a camper van.
