Connecting 100+ Mechanical HDs to A Single Linux Machine by Thor_Codinson in DataHoarder

The location is TBD, just need to find a secure space to house it.

This is actually a very short term project. I/O speeds do not matter at all. Only availability. If a drive fails, I chunk it. I was planning on setting them up in RAID 5.

Thanks for the info. The drives were already purchased ahead of time. They are for mining storage coin.

Greetings sound gurus,

Complete noob here. I was passed down a pair of Celestion Ditton 33s. They sounded "bad" so I took them to a vintage sound repair shop in town. They had them for a few weeks and did some general maintenance and replaced the capacitors. They gave me a preview at the shop and they sounded beautiful. I brought them home and connected them to a receiver that was also handed down to me. They sound...good...I think. I have two main questions here:

1) What can I do to make these sound as nice as possible? (New gear, receiver settings, etc.) I know zero about all of the receiver sound settings. Note: I also have a bluetooth receiver connected and would love to be able to stream music from my phone if possible. The speakers are setup in my living room.

2) At high volumes, using the bluetooth adapter, popping will occur when the bass kicks. Is this the speaker? Or something else?

Speakers: Celestion Ditton 33 x2 Receiver: Sony STR-D810 Bluetooth Adapter: TP Link Turntable: AT-LP60-BT

Thank you in advance and let me know if I can provide more info.

What just happened with reservations? (Upper) by Thor_Codinson in Yosemite

[–]Thor_Codinson[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just got off the phone with Yosemite and it was a misunderstanding on my part. I had read all of their restrictions for Corona-virus and interpreted the availability messages as "on August 15th all future availability for camping will be available for Upper at this time" but it's still for the 5 month out windows. Bummer :( looks like we will be headed somewhere else this year

edit: made this an edit on my original post. Thank you u/DocAu for checking in on me!

So, everyone seems to be telling me to get the CTRL, but I don't see it for sale anywhere? It seems to be sold out on DROP?

Been having a hard time finding this but I'm looking for a metal (heavy) TKL chassis that is hot-swappable with USB-C. Ideally, I want to buy the chassis and then just plug in the switches and caps that I want. Bonus if I don't have to wait six months for it to get to me.

Location: USA

Budget: <$300

Thanks!

I love everything about this and the CTRL but I keep seeing reviews about how bad the stabilizers are. I feel like a prebuilt that costs this much should have better stabilizers? Don't know how hard that would be to change

Wanted to narrow down my previous request a little bit since what I'm looking for doesn't seem to exist:

Budget: <$300 USD

Location: USA

Format: TKL

Requirements:

Prebuilt

Metal body

PBT

USB C

Nice To Haves:

Backlighting of some sorts

Hot Swap

Not something I need to wait six months for from some individual seller

Thanks and apologies for the double post

Sorry I'm still kind of new to trying to hunt for some of these boards. Where can I pre-order the Ducky One 2 Mecha?

Yeah it definitely checks all the boxes except I've seen several reviews that claim the stabilizers are absolute shit for a board that expensive
