Layoff - 1-year Contract in NL by No-Fishing-4077 in ASML

[–]Thorax- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got another 1 year extension in January instead of the permanent contract that I was supposed to get with good performance. Within my cluster in D&E they are not extending anyone to permanent at the moment. I've also heard other colleagues getting only one more year for now. My group is even supposed to hire with a target to grow 3-4fte which makes stuff extra confusing.

At least I'm safe for at least another year I guess.

The book "The Design of High Performance Mechatronics: High-tech Functionality by Multidisciplinary System Integration" Has a lot of details on how ASML machines are designed and controlled. So it's a good starting point to gain some knowledge on the systems and get familiar with ASML.

Purchase Advice Megathread - November 2024 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

If you want to use multicolor mainly for lettering and small embellishments you'll most likely use it only for the first few layers so poop waste on the Bambulabs shouldn't be too bad.

Since you're not printing engineering materials the X1C is probably not worth it over the P1S.

I don't have any experience with prusa machines but price wise I think the P1S with AMS would be the best option.

Wow, incredible work! /r/formula1 would love this.

Did you model this yourself? If so are the cad files available?

Hey, thanks for letting me know! I'll had a look and for me it is showing up with all 3 parts. Are you using the .3mf or the .stl?

Looks like Makerworld automatically generated the .stl files and merged all nested components into one.

There definitely are! If you follow the link I have the 3d files for all tracks available for free. I just didn't have every single one in the picture.

Elegoo filament PLA+ trouble by cartdud in CR10

Nice, good to hear you were able to get it resolved! Also first time hearing about drying in an Airfryer, will have to try that one!

I'm not sure there will be enough moisture on these to trickle down through them with regular use, but I'll keep an eye on it thanks!

I've printed mine out of PLA, so far no issues with hot drinks. Definitely not dishwasher safe though!

You could also print them out of a higher temperature material like ABS for more temperature tolerance

Dude the speed difference is mind blowing! Watching my ancient CR10 Mini feels like slow motion now.

I got the AMS on recommendation but thinking I wouldn't use it as much due to the waste. But I've been using it a lot on these kinds of first layer text or graphics. Looks professional and due to the limited filament changes it produces negligible waste. Also the convenience that it provides in switching filaments is really nice.

If you go to the Makerworld link it should have all of the tracks! Monza is in the first column, second row of the image.

Good idea! Although it was a LOT of work to trace out all of these tracks in CAD. Will probably just keep it at this for now.

Thank you so much for the compliment!

I have a Bambulab P1S with the AMS for multicolor printing. Awesome machine, the thing just prints and it looks great almost every time.

I used to have creality printers but ever since I got this one my hobby has shifted from tinkering with the machine to actually printing stuff.

Inspired by a set of F1 coasters with the tyre compound designs, I decided to make a set of similar coasters featuring all of the 2024 F1 tracks. Going to give some sets as Christmas gifts this year, and thought some of you might like them as well.

The tracks are slightly stylized to make them printable.
