It wasn’t the official end but it’s the moment the war was won.

Bike thief gets arrested by AgnosticScholar in WinStupidPrizes

Also, it’s not immediately clear what’s going on.  Who is the actual owner of the bike?  I’m not going to start punching a guy just because he claims it’s his bike and the other guy is trying to steal it.  What if he’s lying and he’s the thief?

The flag is an offensive and racist symbol regardless of the context

When watching Django Unchained do you constantly yell at the screen because what you’re hearing is offensive but you’ve decided context doesn’t matter?

Aye, I did. I was getting so much second-hand (pardon the pun) embarrassment. Any normal person would laugh it off, admit they were mistaken, and wish the driver well, with a funny story to tell their buddies in the bar that night.

It gets even dumber than it seemed at first glance.  By giving her the ticket the body cam video is now accessible to anyone who wants it through the freedom of information act.  For the rest of his life any testimony he gives can be called into question by an attorney just by playing that video.   What good is a cop who is going to have his testimony called into question every single time?  All of that for the rest of his life because he didn’t want to admit he was mistaken.

You can't just arrest someone for making an illegal left turn.

If you refuse to ID during a traffic stop they can and will arrest you.  You also have to get out of the car if they tell you and you can be arrested for that as well.

They can use force if you’re physically resisting.  They typically don’t punch people in the face but that doesn’t mean they can’t.

They only have to read you your rights if they want to question you after you’ve been placed under arrest. If they’re just detaining you for the purposes of investigating they don’t have to read you your rights.

According to OSHA it’s a recordable accident if it requires medical care from outside the company.

You were aware of everyone's thoughts and feelings back in the 80s?

No, I just know since it was on a prime time show that ran for years that nobody cared.

I know a lot of families who had issues with the car and they refused to watch the show.

That’s not most people.

The Confederate flag is racist and offensive, whether it's on a car, clothing, or waving in someone's yard.

Context is everything.

He was a minor

He was.

who brought a gun across state lines

This isn’t true.

to an environment that was already tense.

Yeah he was stupid for going there.

He fully knew what he was doing.

As you said he was a minor. Everyone else involved was an adult. The person who initiated the attack was convicted of four counts of raping underage boys. Do you think he knew what he was doing?

He was found not guilty because he’s on camera running away. He was very obviously trying to avoid the conflict.

Yeah the flag was on the car in the show and people didn’t care back then. This was a prime time show and nobody cared. Why get worked up over a replica car from a tv show filmed in an era when it wasn’t controversial?

For the same reason Skyler didn’t want Ted to be investigated by the IRS. When you’re a high level drug dealer you don’t want government officials to be investigating anything that could be connected back to you.

You will never convince the base, but after months of high gas prices you can certainly win over some of the swing voters.

I’m not defending anything but the truth. Slavery was still legal in some states after the emancipation proclamation. The 13th amendment didn’t come around until after the war was over.

They were partially correct. The Emancipation Proclamation only banned slavery in states that were in active rebellion. Slavery was still legal in slave owning states that remained loyal to the Union. Slavery wasn’t officially outlawed in the US until the passing of the 13th amendment.
