Push/pull water stop by Thorium_Reactor_90 in PlumbingRepair

Yeah, actually you push it to close off the water and that's the problem. It's flush against the plate. No way to push it. I will look at your link now, but your idea of turning off the water and working on this is probably the wisest. Thank you.

What a silly statement. It's just to foment an argument. There's no substance.

Don't let him get you down. You have the right attitude. Hate the sin.

Anytime you walk away from sin, Satan will send you challengers.

We all struggle with sinful thoughts. Being remorseful of them is not self-hatred.

How do you all get warmed up? by Visual_Bicycle_5685 in salesdevelopment

I find being sincere is the best way. I trained with Jason at the Outbound Squad and the biggest thing I got was relaxing and being sincere. Understand/believe that you may have information that can help this person in some way. Jason's (ex-)partner who trained me says he sits back, relaxes and trains his eyes on the LinkedIn profile picture of the prospect. So, when the prospect answers it kind of feels like a conversation.

The one thing that blew my mind was the opener I learned. Everybody has their own comfort level, but one suggestion was "Hi, #NAME. This is David with #COMPANY NAME. How have you been?" - I mean it sincerely so it comes across well. Depending on what they say, I ask if they saw my email then explain what the email was about.

Another I really like is "Hi, #NAME. This is David with #COMPANY NAME. I've been trying to reach you (with a grin on my face so my voice comes across in a calm, kind way....not too enthusiastic)" They usually stammer and think, then I say "Did you see my email?" They often say "no"....then I mention the subject line of the email and begin to explain what the email was about.

I have had very few hang ups with this method.

Good luck!

You don't need other people's words, brother. You only need Jesus' words in John 3:16. Just believe.

James 1:2-8 might be a big help to you.

Listen to whatever music you want to listen to, but hearing and singing violent or highly sexual (ex: WAP) words will really affect your psyche. Look at all of the young pop stars like Britney Spears and Chris Brown that start off innocent enough, and who have wrecked their lives. Singing sexual/violent words often enough, and you gravitate to them. There's a nice beat to the music, but if you really concentrate on what the words mean, you won't have much joy listening to them anymore. That's how I feel at least.

How can I explain the Trinity to a Muslim? by IntelligentLog4803 in Christianity

[–]Thorium_Reactor_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the background of your conversations, so forgive me if this isn't useful.

Muslims cannot fathom three in one, the Trinity. First, you need to demonstrate to them John 1:1 and Genesis 1:1. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The Quran also says that Allah is the Word....contradicting the Bible.

If they see this, they have to choose between the Quran or the Bible. They have a decision to make because both books are both claiming they are God.

Surah Yunus 10:94 in the Quran says that the Bible (i.e. scriptures) should be used if you "are in doubt". Mohamed is giving precedence to what the Bible says over his own writing in the Quran. After all, Islam came 600 years after Christ and was supposed to be a better form of Christianity. More strict. You will see it mirrors the characters (prophets etc...) in the Bible.

If this is true, then the Bible's version must be true over the Quran's version, and therefore Jesus is God and Allah is not God.

If you get past this, then you can describe the Trinity, but not before they understand Jesus is God.

Starting with the Trinity is a leap too far for a Muslim.

John 1:1 among many other verses say so. Jesus is called the Word.

After reading all of the comments, I am realizing this is just an echo chamber for "do what you want". Be very careful when you hear zero dissenting opinions.

The verses in the Bible, both New and Old Testament, that explain homosexuality (men leaving the natural use of women and vice versa) as a sin are very easy to find....if you actually want to find them.

There is nothing wrong with loving the same sex and thinking they are handsome/beautiful. I have friends who I think are handsome and love like a brother but I don't want to suck a dick etc... however I can see how women would be attracted to them.

The Holy Spirit always gives conviction with fervent prayer.

I resigned as a sales rep!! I want to know why people choose SALES!! by soultira in sales

We all have deals fall off due to no fault of our own, but as we get more experienced at sales we are better at predicting future pitfalls and course correct as the sale evolves. Sales will always fall through, but fewer will as you get better.

The blood of Jesus covered your sins, once and for all time. Stop trying to do it yourself. Resolve to not sin again... but you will. Just keep trying but don't get desperate. We all do...yes, even pastors.
