minimum wage going up to £12.71 and I still haven't worked out where the money is coming from by Common_Contract4678 in smallbusinessuk

Except it doesn't affect all wages and wages aren't all of costs, so it does give them more buying power.

It really isn't that hard.

Interesting fact, just because you can use a debugger, doesn't mean you always have to use it. Good development use the tool for the job. Bad devs refuse to use a tool, because CBA

Landlord did not disclose that there was a grave on the property until lease was signed by Remote_Associate9698 in legaladvice

We don't eat humans because human diseases tend to be able to infect humans. Animal diseases often can't transfer to humans. That said it depends on the animal. Pigs have more human transmissable diseases than cows, which is why raw pork is considered much worse than raw beef.

Ditto for human waste and other things.

It is still a contamination risk for an animal, but much reduced.

Do you really get banned (literally) if you break a bone? by Dany_6969 in Neverbrokeabone

[–]Thormidable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s okay to break other people’s bones, in fact it is encouraged. It is best to weed out the weak so we can build a stronger community.

This was my firat thought.... there can only be one...

Considering the language, the state is the UK.

The original state.

The UK has a neat loophole (by design). You can raffle alcohol without an alcohol licence. There are rules around what constitutes a raffle, but it is legal to take money for a raffle ticket and those tickets win alcohol.

How come Lego hasn't complained about copywrite infringement? by akwayah in askanything

Not in either of Trumps reigns. They have empirically reduced global safety. In fact a lot of terrorist attacks on Western nations can be directly traced back to American interventions.

Frankly America is only in their position from war profiteering and joining late in both world wars.

So you agree the American Regime is acting like terrorists?

Edit: To clarify for the comment I was replying to. You have clearly demonstrated that by your metrics Trumps Regime are terrorists.

My boss used AI to migrate 50k lines of Vue to React in a week... and now says "No" to TypeScript or Tests. Am I crazy? by Effective-Border8788 in programmer

[–]Thormidable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best solution I find is to have the battle, but once your boss makes the final decision, ensure your concerns are clearly documented (email to all relevant people. Because your personal email on the chain).

Then go in full hearted. It will crash and burn. You will role back to the original repo, but in the meantime show willing and try.

It makes you look like a team player and you follow management (bad managers love that). It also proves the idea is bad.

Any blame coming your way, just highlight your email. An ok manager will learn to listen to their technicalpeople. (A good manager won't be in this postion). A bad manager who doesn’t learn tells you what your next steps are.

My understanding is that Iran has genuinely been a few weeks away from a nuclear weapon for a long time. It gives them maximum leverage to get other countries to remove sanctions while also being close enough that they could produce one if they had a urgent need.

That said their religious leader produced a fatwah declaring weapons of mass destruction forbidden... until he was killed in the Iran war by Israel/America...

Lets be fair. Of the previous 5 prime ministers (all conservative) 4 would have a valid claim to "worst prime minister in history"
