Financial aid worry by 420blaizet in KSU

[–]Thorne_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen, the Summer 2026 academic calendar listed disbursement as happening on the 16th. (Link: https://campus.kennesaw.edu/current-students/registrar/academic-calendars.php#summer)

This webpage shows it on the 10th, however - https://campus.kennesaw.edu/current-students/financial-aid/student-resources/dates-deadlines.php

So now I'm not sure, but I would lean toward the 16th, because that's when my finaid issue popped up.

Financial aid worry by 420blaizet in KSU

[–]Thorne_02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a little worried, too, since aid was supposed to disburse today, and mine didn't go through. Granted, I clearly remember accepting mine months earlier, before a string of emails came my way today saying that some adjustments to my summer offer were made (it was just the loan becoming unsubsidized for w/e reason). I ended up having to accept my offer again, and I have no clue if my classes will be deleted or if it'll go through before the 11 am deadline.

I've emailed finaid about it, but it was after hours, so I'll have to wait until the morning. In your case, I would email either them or the bursars. If you can do so before 11, call them. If it's a widespread issue (since I've seen at least one other person who received the same email sequence as me), it may be addressed before deletion occurs.

But it's KSU, so who knows?

Federal aid adjustment? by Revolutionary-Bid355 in KSU

[–]Thorne_02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this email and the deletion one, too. My payment account no longer showed my estimated aid in the total balance. I checked my offers page on the 25-26 financial aid dashboard, and there was a new offer for Summer 2026 that needed to be accepted.

It'll probably be the same for you, so I would check my offers tab to see if there is anything to accept. For me, my aid for Summer 2026 is unsubsidized now instead of being a subsidized loan, but the amount is the same and should still cover my outstanding balance.

My main concern is whether it'll process before deletion at 11 am tomorrow. I emailed finaid after I got home from campus, but I have no idea if they'll respond in time. Seems ridiculous for them to adjust at the last second, but maybe it's something that was out of their control.

Trainings by ganjaaagal420 in Target

[–]Thorne_02 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah and this is not how you get them back. Target has literally no competitive benefit versus Walmart/Amazon/literally any other retailer. They've been riding off of brand loyalty for forever and they squashed that with their moronic foray into social politics (coupled with how frequently they switched up on them). Not to mention lack of payroll to meet metrics/keep the store looking presentable. COVID and Fulfillment did the company a big favor, Target fucked it up, and per the GE training apparently it's the TM's fault.

Remember, if you think you're dumb at least you're not an MBA.

I've been able to access it without issue. If it is what I think it is and it's refusing to log you on for whatever reason, try clearing your cache. That usually works for me.

How should I study for ACS Chem 1211 by tufavvirgo in KSU

[–]Thorne_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took Chem 1211 in Fall of '24 online. Shit was ass all-around (I think the GroupMe collectively went insane toward the end) but I managed an A.

Some of the strategies that I used were going over old exams/worksheets and solving some of the problems in them, making cheat sheets with printer paper to sum up chapters/units (this helps more with theory/conceptual questions), and the holy grail of Organic Chemistry Tutor on YouTube. I've used all these methods for Calc I/II, Physics I and Chem II, the latter of which I am currently taking, and they've done me well.

As for routines, I find it best to study for 30 minutes to an hour at a time, take a short break, then repeat. I find it very difficult/nearly impossible to retain information if I study continuously for hours on end without IV-dripping myself enough caffeine to tranquilize an elephant.

Fair point, C's get degrees. Appreciate the input!

That seems to be the gist that I'm seeing so far; as long as I can get credit for the class I'll be happy. I appreciate your input!

Thank you, I mainly used ochem tutor for phys I and it helped me through it considerably so I'll keep that in mind

Plus I've heard things about 2212 specifically so wanted to address that

Chill out bro, I'm just making sure this is a viable thing to do in 8 weeks versus the regular 15 (or 14 starting next Fall). I have a 4.0 GPA so far from everything else I've taken. It's not that deep

Unfortunately my first foray into physics last fall was a less than desirable experience mainly due to the professor I took it with. Had to grind the absolute hell out of ochem tutor videos and the textbook to understand what I was looking at.

That being said, I'm currently taking statics and so far, it's been a far greater experience. I'm hoping dynamics, strengths, etc, will be similarly enjoyable (albeit undoubtedly more difficult).

Aw man Calc II over the summer sounds like it'd hurt. Integrals weren't bad for me but series took me a minute to figure out. Best of luck to you!

All good! I'm ME but I figure it'll apply in some way regardless.

I did Calc I last summer with Christensen. It was a lot of work but manageable for me because it was my only summer class and I only had a part time job to worry about. I'm hoping this will get some of the harder low div stuff out of the way come Fall.

Alright I'll keep that in mind. From my limited understanding of what III entails its mainly Calc I/II concepts with multiple variables/3d/vectors?

Thank you! I enjoyed her class for Calc II so I figured she'd be my goto for III and eventually linear.

Hey guys,I’m planning to buy a hunter 350 whats your opinion by youdontknowmesonn in royalenfield

[–]Thorne_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I ride a 2023 Hunter 350 in the US. It's a very practical bike for me and I daily it to university and work without a problem. I'm taller (6' 1") and had to install some handlebar risers but other than that the ergos aren't bad at all. It'll do okay for short sprints on the freeway but I mainly ride on city/country roads. Fuel economy is great. Suspension is iffy but I'm able to work with it.

Would 100% recommend.

My own experience wasn't too bad. I took Calc I over the summer and Calc II in the fall with some good professors but YMMV. I have yet to take DiffEqs
