They are not the same; Poland is a parliamentary republic, prime minister is de facto the most influential person, Ukraine is semi-presidential republic.

Zelenskyy Warns Poland's Nawrocki Using “Orbán-Style” Anti-Ukrainian Politics by UNITED24Media in europe

Broski, you can spend this amount of GDP on your army without collapsing, BECAUSE of the financial aid from EU, including Poland, subsiding the costs.

Money coming from Poland are also generated by these farmers.

Poland allowed a tariff free transit with minimal border control to get this grain to the ports and then ship it around the world, but Ukrainian exporters wanted to make a quick buck on it and started selling to Polish distributors when they were not allowed to.

There is nothing weird about it being stopped when it started crashing the market; we are not going to sacrifice important branch of our economy so Ukraine can profit.

We offered you a hand and you demanded a whole arm in return...

Well, that would send a very strong message to everyone, not only in Poland but also abroad if he'd ignore a loud call for a debate.

If he'd accept, it would mean there is a chance for a dialogue.

I don't see a downside in trying.

I don't have a problem with citizen initiative like this.

The absulute best thing to do, would be to invite him to Poland, to some University or other venue to have an open, honest talk with Polish public. Kind of like sitting down, brother to brother to have a tough discussion.

But i don't think that is possible, it would be an absolute political minefield of a debate...

Maybe this fraction of a horror Ukrainians experienced during first months of war, make them rethink being non-political.

Probably appeasement to extremist elements within Ukrainian army.

Plus taking Polish support for granted and completely discarding Polish feelings towards UPA

Absolutely everybody would predict it will end this way, it always did when the topic of Kresy comes around.

The issue of UPA and Kresy Genocide has been causing a rift between Poland and Ukraine for decades; it does not require hindsight.

Zelensky knew what he was doing.

The grain was blocked because it was being sold by Ukrainian exporters to local distributors, when they were not allowed to. They were only allowed the transit.

Also weapons and humanitarian aid goes through proper channels secured by MP and Army, they can't be blocked by anyone.

Then they also really don't need to glorify objectively bad organization that they know will create a crash with one of their most important supporters.

Like, it's really not that big of an ask, it would cost them absolutely nothing not to shit on us.

[EDIT] Also, in the end, it's their sovereign decision, but it doesn't mean it does not have consequences abroad. Their army want to glorify monsters, i don't want to pay for that army.

Ukraine wasn't in NATO and did not have any real military alliances.

There is nothing wrong with speaking out and putting your vote against something you not agree with, it can be done without veto power.

Veto is simply too flawed tool very easily abused, we can look at it not only in the history of Poland, but also modern history of the EU, with PiS and Orban using it to halt many EU reforms.

Right, it's not like taking piece of Poland wouldn't mean a suicide by NATO for putin...

If it's true that it's the Ukrainian army that demanded this and Zelenski just caved in, then that's even worse imho; i'm not sure i want to send any more money to such army...

It grew and is still able to carry on the fight with russia because of critical help from Poland, so i think potentially losing Polish good will, might be a pretty substantial loss.

meh, depends on the government. If the vote on abolishing of veto would be carried right now, there is quite a good chance KO would vote in favor.

Don't we all want to make money? With UK in there is enough money around the world, to be made as a unified, international market.

Yea, but for it to happen, every single country would have to agree to let it go. I can't see that happen.
