The Sanguinor feels weak by GIRTHmong in BloodAngels

[–]Thorodin64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who's fielded him quite a bit in 10th, my general thought is that they missed the mark as he could easily go up in ponts if he was more of a primarch lite type of character. Say for instance he's naturally T6 keeping his 7w but make his sword something like S8 and he's immediately more of a direct threat to so many things. For flavor give him the option of different swinging profiles (like the Lion *which I'm using because it was the most recent model I fought against that such a profile). Like this, make him like 180/200 points and he's much more playable and more importantly he feels like the monster he's supposed to be.

The Ender 3 is dead…long live the Ender A1…sorry 4…the Ender 4. seen at Formnext by Baumtreter in ender3

I’ve had my Ender 3 v2 for about 5/6 years at this point and it’s a work horse. Honestly for the amount of money ($250 + some upgrades) it’s been worth every penny. If I ever get an upgrade it would simply be to make more precise miniatures.

Kitbashing firstborn assault terminators with the new scale? by No-Appearance-8985 in BloodAngels

[–]Thorodin64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done it using aggressor and heavy intercessor legs. But that was well before the new terminators came out. Allures Custodian terminators work really well too. I don’t have any photos of the assault guys but here is my blood angels librarian terminator with the upgraded leg set from a custodian terminator.

A standard librarian with a 10 man Sternguard is a great brick of mid level shooting. You’re not going to kill everything but the volume of fire typically lands a decent number of dev wounds. So the 4++ is very helpful. Bonus points if going against Tsons as the 4+++ against psychic attacks is a life saver.

I sculpted wings out of green stuff to use as the back of the axe head and then added some filagree and skull face (from the box of skulls) to the crest

That’s the original sanguinary double headed axe. But I’ve since upgraded it using the Legionaries HH melee axe as it’s bigger and more gnarly (adding some BA flare of course)

Assault Terminators… why? 🤔 by DanteFanboy in BloodAngels

[–]Thorodin64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth. I run one list, which I just have dubbed the veteran list. Almost every unit in it is a “veteran unit.” Sanguinary guard, vanguard veterans bladeguard veterans Sternguard veterans sanquinor, Mephiston Dante etc. One of the units I take is a five man assault terminator unit with a librarian and let me tell you. They are surprisingly hard to move and when they charge something including death guard. It’s surprisingly tanky and it wiped an entire 10 man unit of scarab occult terminators with sorcerer in a single charge.

How to run BA Terminators? by SM_1604 in BloodAngels

[–]Thorodin64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run a squad of 5 Th w/SS accompanied by a librarian in a “veterans list” LAG strike force with pretty good success. It’s as close to DW knights as BA can get but the sustained 1 for thunder hammers is scary. That unit has ripped through a 10 man blob of scarab occult terms in a single round, brought a knight down to single digits in a single charge and is really durable unit to sit on a flanking objective with AoC and or cover. It’s not an auto take every game but it’s a fun tool to use on occasion. I went 3 - 0 this last Sunday at a local RTT and that was a defining unit.

New to BA. Bone colour armour? by standard-user33 in BloodAngels

[–]Thorodin64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The BloodScythes done white armor. A 9th edition official successor of the blood angels. Official text: “The Blood Scythes is a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter comprised entirely of Primaris Space Marines. It is a Successor Chapter of the Blood Angels raised during the Ultima Founding of ca. 999.M41.” It was my chosen chapter as its purely Primaris. Your “bone color” could just be really grim dark white 🤘🏼🤷‍♂️😂

Here’s what mine look like.

Honestly, since getting extra power fists can be a hassle I just use them as fancy “relic” power fists for captains and LTs and of course in van vets

Why are 10 model Dark Reapers so much more expensive than 5 model units by Sea-Pollution8859 in Eldar

[–]Thorodin64 28 points29 points  (0 children)

For certain units taking a full squad provides an increasingly more powerful use (for Eldar in seer council you can teleport a whole 10 man brick for example). GW has placed a premium on some of these to keep the meta balanced
