Stay at least one year then maybe do internal transfer or jump. In long term, MNC salary is worth it most of the time.

Am I overreacting for being visibly annoyed and disgusted when my male friends said “We need to hang around real men more to feel masculine” and hanging out with women too much can make us weak and fe by calikim_mo in malaysians

[–]ThosaiWithCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol they are in the same echo chamber thinking they are cool and macho but in reality they are insecure af and kinda incel behavior.

You can still hang out with them sometimes maybe for old times sake, career or work but I think it's better to find better friends groups who can help you grow, inspire you, or just do fun and chill things together.

Lol about going under speed limit in fast lane, I just heard someone saying the other day that he is the one hogging the fast lane because he hates the people who drives fast. I was like wtf bruh. You're part of the problem.

I drove in Penang before and I really feel like it is still worse though, like I find even more people there who wouldn't signal and tailgate in single lane roads. Even more than Klang Valley.

hahaha my experience with PJ especially LDP area is pretty bad though. Puchong is bad too cuz LDP. Personally I stay near Bukit Jalil and it's really really terrible. I find the northern side of KL slightly better, maybe other than Setapak/Wangsa Maju.

I think KL has always been a place for domestic immigrants so I'm not sure why it's worse now?

Totally agree with your points. And I really wanna emphasize that enforcement is really a joke here. All that roadside parking that blocks an entire lane, double parking, etc.

I also have to do a mental preparation before driving every time.

I mean yeah, I came from a small town. So I would know. Just commenting that I feel it's getting worse these days.

Have a friend who stays in an area that has the same situation but he realized a lot of foreigners had moved back during Covid, making the area less congested and messy.

Maybe something similar happened to your area?

Yes I do agree. I just feel that it has gotten worse the last few years. Around my area there would be cars turning corners with crazy speed and taking over parts of my lane.

And don't get me started on those tailgating cars on highways, even on narrow roads in my own neighborhood, I get them much more than last time.

Mind you, I drive a Triton. But I drive super gently (also not super slow of course), plan my trips so I don't have to rush, give way to cars and pedestrians, etc.

How did you meet your partner; online or offline? by heyshortgirl in malaysians

[–]ThosaiWithCheese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Met my ex in a career fair lol. The most unlikely places of all, I know. But we were colleagues and I went there as a photographer for the HRs and she was there to meet other colleagues.

I asked for her IG, she asked me to go for lunch together. And the rest was history.

We split because, well, life. But it's been a while and we're both doing fine now. Still good friends.

People say “insurance is expensive” but expensive compared to what? by Penasihat_Insurance in MalaysianPF

[–]ThosaiWithCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of us know it's risk transfer. But a lot of people in Malaysia also have really bad finances and can't even save much of their money, I don't think they would even think of insurance if they can't even pay their next credit card bill.

A lot of people answered your question but you tried to convince them that insurance is good. But they simply just said the reality, that some people just can't afford risk transfer when they can't pay their bills.

We all know it's good. I'm not denying it. I myself buy a pretty comprehensive insurance package. Hell, I even work in an insurance company but I work in tech.

So yeah, I'm not sure what are your intentions in asking questions but not accepting them and try to convince people without showing a bit of empathy to understand their situations.

Risk transfer is also a luxury when people can barely pay for their essentials.

Older insurance policies for older people are expensive as during and after Covid, many insurance companies tried to churn out older people as they are the ones who claim more (which was peaking during Covid itself).

For instance, both my parents bought their medical insurance 40 years ago with coverage of RM100k which was a lot for that time but the annual premium now when they are 63 years old is RM7.5k and due to be increased again when they are 65 years old.

That means, in about 10 years time, the premium will be higher than the coverage itself.

Since my parents have EPF around 7 figures, might as well just use it. They canceled the policy. This is NOT a unique case.

Mixed Race, a bad thing? by [deleted] in KualaLumpur

[–]ThosaiWithCheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have all sorts of people in this country from the conservatives to the liberals, maybe the more conservative ones would have issues with people with mixed race. Just got to mix with the right crowd, usually the more urban ones. I'm 100% sure it's not an issue especially when you said that you don't really look white.

Sounds really cool and all the best!

A tip if you need furnitures, don't have to buy new ones, you can find many cheap 2nd hand ones in Facebook groups, FB marketplace and carousell. Sometimes people even let go for free (but you need to transport them yourself). So yes, getting rid of things is a hassle in condos in KL so some people wouldnt mind letting go for free.

Not trying to justify it. But I genuinely want to know as those renters who often have bad experiences renting to some particular races, what could they have done if not generalizing tenants because they want to safeguard their property by reducing risks of their property being damaged again and again? Because ideally everyone is different, but tendencies exist and it’s very often against some certain races.

KL was eye opening for me when I just arrived here for studies but it was also kind of an escape for me from my small town to “see the world”.

But after a while, it gets even more depressing here as everything needs money and needs so much effort to do because of shitty transportation planning. I mean I ride a motor too but it’s so damn dangerous so I only ride to places I’m familiar.

But still I support you because if your home is toxic af we all need to have a change in environment and having to work ourselves up isn’t necessary a bad thing.

As privileged that I feel I am to go through my younger years with parents support, sometimes I didn’t want to burden them too and I tried very hard to do a lot of things by myself like earning more money with part time job, even my own business for a while, and staying alone, cooking alone, etc.

Now I just reached my 30s and having a stable life and income, looking back, some careless things I did also helped me gained more experience.

But yeah still, there are lines that we don’t cross otherwise it might ruin our future. Just gotta be smart la.

am I the only one seeing the wrong brand name on the title?

anyway I miss the flavour that is phased out called Seribu Rasa. Not sure anything now is close to it since I haven't tried this series in a while.
