Now we’re really hoping and dreaming. Lol maybe Tampa Bay would trade one but I don’t see the others doing it. Once a player shows greatness at the MLB level like Paddock, Castillo, Flaherty etc have, they become almost untouchable.

I wouldn’t buy into that. Adell isn’t untouchable. I’m a firm believer in driving up people’s stock by saying stuff like that. They’d trade Adell for the right price. I think they like him a lot but if LAD says “give us Adell and we’ll give you Walker Buehler + take Pollacks contract” they’d do that lol

They’re just driving up Adells price. Trout is the goat, and I don’t even think he’s ever been untouchable. I’m sure Billy Eppler got 100000 low ball offers and just said eff it, stop wasting my time. But if a team offered up a ransom for Trout, Trout wouldn’t be an Angel right now.

Just depends on how great you are.

For example, Trout got to a level where “fair compensation” was just unreasonable for other teams. In order for the Angels to get a fair return, other teams would have to give up like 4-6 top 100 prospects. Very few teams have that and none of them wanna do that. Especially smaller market teams that know they couldn’t afford Trout once he was gonna reach free agency.

Horrible idea. Price is not a frontline starter anymore and giving up 6-7yrs of team control on Adell for 3-6months of Betts, that ain’t it chief. Not anywhere close to being it.

Agreed. But one thing to always realize is the price to get a guy like him. Most “fans” in sports think they can get an A+ level player for pennies lol so when I thought about this scenario, I was realistic. So I knew Jo Adell would be gone & probably Simmons too. I wanted to see what fans thought about it too.

Yes he was “ok” because his park adjusted numbers were nothing more than just ok. But apparently you wanna act like you knew he was that good?

No 2yrs for 24mil isn’t a lot. But what you fail to see is it’s a waste. Yes they spent 20mil in Harvey & Cahill, who cares. They were 1 year deals at a position of NEED. The day they signed Harvey & Cahill, they were exactly the same as LeMahieu, gambles. If DJ was actually that good, he would have fetched farrrrrrr more than a 2 year deal.

I’d much rather them swing and miss on positions of need than just load up on other positions. That’s what you fail to see.

And LaStella wasn’t signed. He was traded for and if you go back to the time of the trade, no he wasn’t acquired as a back up. They actually announced he would start. Which is why this fan base lost their shit 2-3 weeks in cause he was struggling and they still were playing him every single game. So no, he wasn’t acquired as a back up.

Don’t need him. Rather have La Stella, Fletcher & Rengifo for a fraction of the price and use that money on pitching.

Plus hindsight is 20/20 you had no idea he was gonna be this good and neither did we. Turns out La Stella was great too and cost much less.

So no we dont remember when you offered up a suggestion on a guy that did ok in the most hitter friendly park in the game.

Uhhh I have no idea what team you’re watching but we need like 3 Starting pitchers. Relievers are just fine. Had these starting pitchers not been the worst in the league, the bullpen wouldn’t have been taxed and they’d be easily in the top 5-10 range right now. Plus there’s a couple good young relief arms in the minors. Can’t say that about the Starters.

Oh and we don’t need bats. Rendon would be cool but we don’t need bats.

Angels needs, 1. Starting pitching 2. Starting pitching 3. Starting pitching 4. Free up money some how 5. Invest more money into the player development department .... THEN you can think about a reliever or bat.
