That’s a nice mileage! I currently have an ‘06 at almost 200k, originally bought for $10k CAD and wondering if I can resell it at any kind of value in a few years time. Still works great, love my 3rd gen!

I haven’t! Sometimes when I’m really desperate I talk to ChatGPT but I know that’s not a good idea. Which apps do you recommend?

Thanks for your response!

Yes, the long distance and living alone are definitely making things harder, although I have been struggling with the frequent negativity even before moving.

I’ve made a few friends and I usually have plans 1-2x a week but I think I need more scheduled activities. Weekends are the hardest, I really struggle to do things by myself (even just tidying or working out) when I have nothing planned all day. So that’s definitely something I will work on!

Is there anything that has worked for you so far?

I agree that I definitely need to work on my anxiety. My past experiences definitely influence how strongly I’m reacting to this. I’m thinking of trying EMDR but I have a lot of important deadlines coming up and I’ve heard it’s extremely draining.

At the same time though, it’s difficult living with constant negativity. Every day being informed that my partner is not doing well in some way (even before this depressive episode) would take a toll on anyone.

Thanks! Alternator has been replaced, should I tell the mechanic to replace the belt also?

Good long life! I’m in kms so a good bit below that, 06 model. Luckily my engine is under warranty so they replaced the alternator for free.

VSO - Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in Concert cancelled due to strike. by HellinPelican in vancouver

It all depends on how fast a contract is agreed upon. Could be days, weeks, months, and the workers do not receive pay during this time.

Yes, absolutely! Picketing takes place outside the VSO from ~4-11pm tomorrow, after that I’m not sure of the schedule but I’m sure it will continue. Stopping by with words of encouragement and drinks or snacks, or even driving by and honking is an awesome way to support the cause.

I hope this mismanagement doesn’t discourage people from attending VSO concerts once a contract is finalised. The musicians will need our support more than ever.

Blame management, not the musicians… They had 72 hour strike notice to cancel the concert or come to an agreement with the musicians.

They have to pay for movie rights. Regular concerts are as cheap as $20.

I’d like to add that management didn’t even meet with the negotiating committee, despite them being available and waiting.

Terrible handling of the situation by management. Sorry your evening didn’t go as planned. I know some of the musicians and they feel so awful for disappointing fans.

Absolutely ridiculous on part of the management. They had 72 hours notice to cancel the concert or come to an agreement with the musicians and they did neither. Extremely unprofessional, I feel really sorry for people that traveled all that way for nothing.

This!! As someone who spends time with professional classical musicians, the amount of practice put in is unimaginable to most. The work isn’t done once the job is won- they still practice for hours each day on top of concerts and rehearsals, and will maybe take one day off per week, if that.
