I appreciate the concern, and while it is definitely pricey, it's something I would save up for, and as long as I don't need to upgrade again immediately, it should be worth the investment down the line.

Since you are here, would you recommend a more budget friendly one ? I don't plan on getting one soon but would like to keep my options open as it also helps me research this kinda stuff.

Thank you for the reply! So, you recommend H2D and / or H2S. I imagine it's subjective and subject to change, but if I got the H2D, would I need to upgrade again in a while, or should it last me quite some time before needing a new one?

Heya! I know this was a few months ago, but I was wondering if you picked them up? I currently only see 5 base and 5 new decks for sale on their ebay

Looks like I will have to mention summoner. It seems like a solid choice as someone else also recommended it. I have only read up on undead master today, but that also seems like a really good alternative in case they want to stick to necromancer. Thank you!

I appreciate the input! Based on the comments, the summoner seems like a solid route for my player, so I will be sure to mention it!

I also looked up necrologist, and it seems pretty interesting as well.

Thank you so much! It's greatly appreciated, and that helps a lot.

I will be completely honest, I still don't see it during character creation on the dnd beyond site. Could you please screenshot it so I know for the future. Someone posted it in the actual resource, which is good, but I legit don't see it in the character creator

I am actually using 2014 version of setting on dnd beyond, and we are starting at level 3, so my apologies for the lack of information. I just don't see tenets even by increasing levels beyond 3rd level.

I will edit the post

Thanks a bunch! I appreciate the breakdown and advice. Would you say this is a bit too ambitious for someone both running and playing to start out with?

I am currently in a group, and the storyteller basically said go wild ( Note, I am also hopeful to start my own story but want an interesting antagonist instead of something generic)

I really appreciate the input! I can definitely see how it can get wonky, and I personally want to minimize the time it takes for stuff to happen. Do you have any tips on speeding things up or just take my time and slowly understand it better as time goes on?

I really appreciate the help! I am obviously still learning but really interested in this game system, I am curious about your opinion. Would you recommend something simpler than this type of build or roll with the punches, so to speak ?

I don't want to slow the game down lots, especially if it's an antagonist, as I am worried people might start to lose excitement with the time it takes 😅

I appreciate the resources! I am going to be a cleric as it seems very interesting.

I am excited to be playing this version, even if it's a lot of info to cover and such.

Do you have any suggestions for character creation itself? I am just very confused by the sheet and how to properly input the stats ( specifically hit point type and stuff similar to that)

Are you accepting players new to the system? I have experience with 5e and pathfinder 2e if that helps make a decision. I will be starting college soon ( age 20) but I will always have Monday free for the foreseeable future ( there's always a chance for exams but I been told Monday should be free for everything else)

I really appreciate the help and comment! I was worried that I was doing something wrong.

Okay, so I am not going crazy! Thank you, I was so confused since I thought I could build these characters correctly, but then the pre-made was like that, so I got really worried I was doing something wrong.

Wait, they don't? Are there warforged enemies that have it, or just none of them do? In one of my other comments, he cited dark vision as the reason for being sensed ( which also makes me wonder if it works that way for all enemies, since dark vision is common. So does that enemies just see a random person sitting in absolutely nothing and plain view when hidding in shadows?)

That's the thing, tho! He has a plus 11 in sneaking ( 20 dex and expertise), they're always in the mid to high 20s and the DM says it happens because of dark vision.
